Walmart Layaway

Perks aside,a debit card can be used the same way. I use my debit card for just about everything. It's backed by Visa and has zero liability.

Oh and ETA, I pay my bills in full each month, when I use them. You know what they say about assuming don't you

I refuse to use a debit card. It gives too much access to my personal bank account. A CC is much safer IMO.

I'm not one of the ones bashing layaway users. I couldn't care less what happens as I don't use layaway and I despise Walmart!

Target is so much better. You will feel better about yourself choosing Target (or any other store) over Walmart. Walmart is destroying America as well as people's lives.

..but on the flip side, imagine how much more business they did because they offered the lawaway option, whereas Target, Toys R Us, KB Toys, etc. did not.

In many small towns like the one I worked at Wal-Mart was the only option unless you wanted to drive 45 miles to a Target. Can't tell you how far away the closest Toys R Us or KB Toys is. Maybe an hour and a half.

I used lay-away a lot when DH was still in college, that's how I managed to buy a lot of the things we needed for our first apartment.

I know a lot of people will miss the layaway, but I do understand why they're doing away with it.
