I am desparately looking for a Wall e costume for my son! Has anyone see one anywhere? They are sold out on every website I have seen. I have seen them on eBay selling for over $100 :scared1: YIKES!

Maybe I could make one!

I'd make one, using a box! Seriously, I make all of our costumes from bits and pieces of things and my kids always get tons of compliments on their costumes because they're never the same-old, same-old. I'm thinking a box, some silver and/or orangey-yellow spray paint, two styrofoam cups painted and glued on a headband with craft foam inside for the eyes.....

You could definitely make it. DD5 wanted to be Wall-E, so I had starting looking into making it. She now wants to be Ariel, which we already have.

Look at the costume at costumeexpress.com - it's much cuter than the Disneyshopping one (just my opinion ;) ). You can definitely make it with a box. The trick will be the mask. You can probably find a paper mask at a party store, but it would be much cuter to fashion some kind of telescoping or 3-D mask from cups or toy binoculars.

Up until two days ago, that's what ds was going to be. I was going to make it with him.

Same stuff as the other poster, pretty much. Box, spray paint, gray gloves, and some yellow work goggles to put on his head. Black pants and shoes.

Now, he has decided to be a firefighter. I have to say, I'm pretty happy about that as we already have a costume in the dress up bin that I bought for really cheap at a garage sale this summer!

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas! I have decided to make him one. He is excited about the fact that he can pull his arms, legs, and head into the box just like the real Wall e. I'm off to Lowe's to look for yellowish Wall e colored paint! Wish me luck!

I'll post pics when we get it made!

We bought one off of eBay. It wasn't the standard one that you see in all the catalogs but a UK version. Apparently they have a different version in the UK, not sure?

With shipping it was ~$50, which is more than I normally pay. But we're going to MNSSHP :cool1: and the US version seemed big and bulky so add it on to the cost of the trip!
It took less than a week in shipping. I don't have the company handy, but PM me and I'll try and dig it up.
Jeff.
