Wall Covering at Whitehall Room

I know a lot of brides have debated covering the walls (or at least the painting) in the Whitehall room. And I haven't seen too many examples of it being done. But, Shelley from Impressions just updated her website and has a pic of a wedding that COMPLETELY covered the walls...and used the semi-circle tables.

Go to this link. It's the wedding of Donna and Michael and it's the last pic (on the second page). The bride also has some beautiful floral arrangements, if anyone likes red roses!

That is stunning!! :) Even my DF saw it and said "wow" and came across to look closer.

I looked through your photos too and was once again amazed. You really had a beautiful day. :goodvibes

I love the idea of the tables, I might just do that but the actual wall covering takes away from the room, looks too sterile (my opinion of course) but I love what they did at the ceremony, gorgeous!

I saw the Whitehall room draped when I went down for my planning session. Everyone has their own style and taste, but for me, I found it very claustrophobic. All of the doors were also covered in draping, so all of the sunlight was blocked out.

To each their own, but I've decided not to use any draping or to even cover the mirror (I really didn't find it that bad). With my family, if I cover it, most would be pulling back the drape to see what I'm trying to hide. :rotfl:

Thanks! It was such a great day!

The tables are awesome, and there are other brides on here who have used them. I agree with the sterile look for my tastes, but it is quite different!

I asked Shelley about it and she said it does cut down on space in the room, but gave a "dreamy" quality, which some folks might be looking for. But, I agree...my family would be snooping behind, as well!

I agree...it's very pretty with the white lights. I think the red roses were a perfect choice for the table decorations.

I left the room alone, even the mirror. I'm not a big fan of a ton of draping and couldn't help noticing that the draping in the photo was pretty wrinkled (in the closer shot). I would have thought they would steam it once it was up so it would hang smooth...
