Anyone tried this? Its the only restaurant I was hoping to eat at on our last-minute trip...and of course its booked.

1. Keep checking.

2. Several times a day.

3. Including after you arrive, either via your SmartPhone or the concierge desk at your resort.

4. If all else fails, go try; just have a back-up plan in place. I believe they open at 5 pm so I would plan to be there by 4:45.

We waited over an hour when we were walk ups. I recommend booking Kona, which is my favorite place.. best bread and butter..omg goooood. Great teryaki steak...mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Anyways, Kona is right next to Ohana inside the Polynesian, so you could go to the Ohana check in desk out in the lobby area and ask if they are taking walk ups. Then ask how long is the wait. If it is a go, then walk over to Kona and cancel your adr. If not, enjoy a delicious meal at Kona. Kona's bread and butter is out of this world good... Ohana's is ok. Best thing about Ohana is the sticky wings, but you can order them as an appetizer at Kona, for $13. Kona has great desserts, but not the bread pudding.

Be there before 4:45...the line starts forming before 4:30. By 4:45 it may be up to Kona.

Not often, but . . .
. . . men have walked on the moon
. . . Mets have won the World Series, twice
. . . people have walked-up to Ohana and got in

I wouldn't try to walk up. As suggested, keep checking with your concierge... if they can get you a reservation, you're good. I have waited for over an hour before, and I had a reservation! O'Hana's is worth it, but there are so many good restaurants to choose from, I wouldn't spend my vacation time in a two-hour wait for a meal.

It's a total waste of time to walk up at 'Ohana, now O'hana's is different altogether. :lmao: If you try to walk up to 'Ohana, you may be left to dine at Kona, which is on the same floor and inexplcably has some fans around here, but is truly a 'nothing' (and I mean nothing) restaurant, IMO.

Just got back and now the line is on the other side. So it goes from the Vacation Club desk, pass the elevators, almost down to where the pin carts are located. Crazy busy.

are we talking the line being this long for regular reservations too or are there two different lines?

1. they do take walk ins but not many
2. I had ADR and still waited 25 mins for my table
3. to a PP Let's Go Mets
4. Nothing to write home about, wasnt crazy about Ohana, not sure what all the hype is about/

We tried to walk up a few weeks ago and not only we told no, the host was very rude! I am sorry but your food is not that good to treat people liked that. We went to Kona instead, who sticky wings are better than Ohana's we discovered. Our steaks at Kona were cooked just like we ordered and the Kona Kones were great for dessert.

My family and I were there in April...we had reservations, but we walked right up to the podium and were seated within 10 minutes. Also, there were some open tables. I know that 'Ohana is supposed to be such a nightmare, but it was EXTREMELY pleasant for us. And my husband still has not stopped talking about the wings! lol Good luck...and have Kona as your backup. I LOVE Kona..so it would be a win/win for me!

It never hurts to try. But be prepared to have a long wait or be turned away.

Thanks guys! I booked Boma instead. Can't wait!

On May 24 we were at the Tambu Lounge at 4pm for about 90 minutes or so..we sat right by the windows behind the check in podium for Ohana. When we were sipping our drinks at 4 there was a line forming for Ohana but there wasnt a CM there until 5 and they told everyone in this large, snaking line, there wasnt any availability if you didnt have a reservation....half the line walked away and headed towards Kona :lmao:

Last week they were taking walk ups, but they had to wait over an hour. I had STUMBLED upon a reservation that opened up THAT MORNING when I was just looking on my phone for fun. The host was shocked when I told her I just made the reservation that morning. It had been booked for months before our trip! Keep checking, check late at night and early in the morning even on your trip if you have internet on your phone.... I scored a Chef Mickey and an Ohana ressie last week this way! I think a lot of people hold down various reservations and cancel them last minute. I got lucky- could be you on your trip! Good luck! OH, and if you want to walk up= go right when they open. They will see where they are at seating wise and they will give you a time range and I think I even saw them hand out pagers and so the folks didn't have to stand there the whole time.
