Anyone walk over to the Hess Station for snacks etc from BWV? I was trying to make a list for delivery from Garden Grocer but I don't want to over do it and sometimes my son is fickle, so don't want to order a bunch of snacks that will be on his "I won't eat" list that week. Just wondering if it is a quick walk and how much variety is in the store.

It is a quick walk but watch yourself crossing the road. The selection is typical of a gas station / convience store in Jersey minus any Pepsi products. Prices are about the same as the store on the boardwalk.

Cool, thanks! Oh and it won't be me crossing the street, it will be the hubby ;)

I find the prices to be cheaper at the Hess than at the BW store.
Here is a map. The distances look longer than they really are.

Thanks Jean!!! That map was a huge help :thumbsup2 We don't usually got nuts with food etc in the room but nice to have a few things and know the Hess is close for any emergency trips!

That's a long walk in the heat. Prices are similar, but if you like walking, why not.

We always walk over to the Hess our first day, for a case of diet coke @ $5-$6. A 2 liter bottle at Screen Door is $3.50-$4(20 oz bottle in machine is $2.50). It is only a 5-10 minute walk.

We've done the walk. It isn't bad. Carrying gallons of water back can be awkward. I wish Hess had cheese. That's one of the things that I think is overly expensive at the Screen Door.

anyone not staying at BW:

there is a hess station right across the street from the DTD bus stop nearest Planet hollywood. there is a stop light. about a 5 minute walk. and yes, they let us take an 18 pack of beer on the disney bus back to Pop Century.

so use your Planet Hollywood voucher early in the trip, and grab some beer, pop, or snacks on the way back!

We always walk over there, the soda, beer and wine are MUCH less(super market prices as opposed to $5 for a bottle of beer at Disney). Things with set prices are the same.

For those with a Premium AP or Premier AP, there is a 20% discount on merchandise through 2011. Why am I posting here? becuas ethat includes groceries at the Screen Door! That $3 jar of p-nut butter seems like a better deal at $2.40! -- Suzanne

We walked to the Hess from BWV in October. We used two rolling carry-on suitcases to transport our beer, wine and soda. Prices are much much cheaper.

The store is very, very small. There isn't a whole lot of selection. We stop there for milk almost everyday while in WDW, and other than soda, beer, etc., there isn't a whole lot of stuff. I'm not sure what kinds of things your looking for, but just to let you know the store is tiny.

This is so helpful, thank you! We usually drive to WDW, and in April we are flying. We are staying at BWV, and I don't mind the walk for cheaper beer! :cool1: Thanks!

I tend to agree with this post! We have done it a couple of times now. I under estimated our liquid consumption!:lmao: and we didn't have our car yet! We also needed some cold medicine because my son came down with something while we were there. We always bring our rolling collapsible cooler with us to Florida. It always comes in very handy for grocery shopping and storing extra water and drinks, because we always stay in a studio and the fridge isn't very big.

It's not a long walk, but like others have suggested, be careful crossing the road!:car:
