Walking to Disney Challenge

I'm at 8/1330. I'll be at Disney by March of 2007! Better get my Hoop Dee Doo reservations quick!

Didn't have the opportunity to walk on Saturday and it rained Sunday, plus I was out shopping for tropical fish and supplies.

I'm hoping to take the dog out tonight. Right now it's quite gloomy and gray and kind of cool.

Just wanted to report that I am at 167.7/992, about 17% of the way there. Plugging away slowly but surely. At this rate, I should be there in time for Thanksgiving, I think.

count me in. I only have 688.26 miles to get to Disney.

I had started walking to Cozumel (DCL destination) but I think I can stay motivated walking to Disney. We are doing "step" challenges at work and I walk 30-35 miles per week total. I have not been keeping track but I think 15 to 17 miles are actual exercise the rest is day to day activity.

Hey everyone.....how is it going???

Well I finally have my tracker up to date. I think I am langing a bit but I know once the warmer weather comes I will be walking alot more as we usually do a 10 KM walk through the regional forests on Sundays.

Congrats to everyone who is sticking with us......I am heading down the 401 now.....

So far I am up to 7.25 miles. I still have a way to go. But this is a great way for me to get my butt on the treadmill.

  Way to go everyone!
I am walking, just have not taken the time to add up what I managed to record. I will soon. I do like the analagy of the workouts to walking. That
makes good sense. I may include that too.

Keep on trekking WISHers!

Here I am! :wave2: I'm nearing the Shedden exit (164) on the 401. According to the book I have, I'm smelling the Down Home Bakery. Wonder if I should run up the ramp, to pick up a sandwich "to go". :rotfl2:

I'm at 12.8 miles. Heading south on US 31. Wish I were closer to you Debbie, I'd stop for that sandwich with you! ;)

I'll join in. It's 973 miles from my house to WDW. We are going in July so that would mean 9.18 miles per day. That's a pretty lofty challenge.

BTW..I tried the clippie link and I can't get it to work either. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I just added a "running to Disney" clippie. I plan to use just my running miles, so I wanted a clippie that will keep me motivated to run.

Feel free to use it if you'd like:

Its supposed to look exactly like the walking, but it came out a little different :confused3

:cool1: I finally passed the 10 mile mark.

This is such a great idea. I am going to be walking to the Contemporary. It is 1000.52 miles from my house.
I can't get the clippie to work though. I am not the most computer litterate person either, so could someone please tell me how to do this. I have tried everything I can thing of.

Simba, your second [/img] tag is missing that foreward slash. When you put it in, you should be okay.

Ham and havarti cheese on 12 grain for me, what do the rest of you want? :rotfl2:

Thanks Debbie!! It works now, I am so happy!

Hey trekkers! I just totaled my distance and I have logged 94.23/1047.30. Destination Boardwalk Villas.

That is clever! How'd you do that?
  :cool1: :cool1:

I'm obviously not doing anything productive this afternoon :rotfl:

I put in my trip start/destination in mapquest.com, then did a screen capture of the map, opened it in a paint program and added my 2 cents :teeth:

You can see I am taking this running to Disney thing very seriously :cool1: :rotfl2: This is just the thing I needed to avoid burnout. A new goal, a new challenge. Wooo Hoooo!!!
