is this possible for both? I know you can walk to Epcot from BCV- you enter in world showcase. Can you walk to DHS? if so, how long of a walk? TIA!

Yes you can walk to DHS. There is a sidewalk along the canal on the Boardwalk side.

Depends on how fast you walk, but probably in the 15 minute range if you don't dawdle.

The walk to Epcot is nice and not far at all. We did this walk daily during our last visit.

The walk to DHS from the Beach Club is much more substantial. I would say between 20 and 30 minutes or more. You need to go past the yacht club, over the bridge, and all the way past the BW...then you need to keep going a while longer to get to DHS. It is great for a morning walk but I HIGHLY recommend the boat service to this park.

you went the long way.

walk towards BW (epcot then bw) - then go to the main pool at BWV and out the back - turn left and just kept walking.

that say very slow walker here - it takes me 30 minutes. in my younger days maybe 15 to 20 minutes.

We have stayed at BCV twice and walked to HS once. It was at night so it was quite pleasant even though it was JULY. I don't know that I would want to walk there in the summer or back during the heat of the day. We took the boat back that night. That was nice too.

we did the long way around with a 6 year old and stroller and made it to DHS in less than 20 minutes.

we haven't stayed DVC yet but DH and i walk from epcot to DHS or vice versa at least once every trip. this last time we did it in january we had our 7 month old in a carriage and it was a little hot but we still did it in about 30 min. it's a lovely walk and really relaxing!

the first time we did the walk (no baby) a few years ago it was at dusk and we heard and saw rustling in the bushes. we both thought it was an aligator and started running! LOL! pretty sure it was a squirrel! (what can i say, we're from the bronx, we're not used to rustling in bushes!:dance3:)

We've done it several times and beat the boats. It's especially nice in the morning and late at night. In the heat of the day, it can be a little rough.

It never takes us more than 15-20 minutes.

To me, the ability to walk to DHS and Epcot are the biggest draws to Boardwalk and Beach Club. Personally, I think you would have to be very out of shape or disabled (or at least have some type of nagging injury) to not be able to walk to both places. I would much prefer to be moving towards my destination than waiting for a bus or boat. It is such a peaceful walk. The strange thing is that, every time I have walked it, I barely saw anyone else along the path. Considering most of us walk miles and miles over the course of a day at the park, I am not sure why another 15 minutes of walking is a big deal.

We walk back and forth from the BWV to DHS all the time, and I am not in tip-top shape, nor am I young. It is only a little further coming from BCV. I find we usually always beat the boat and I imagine that would be especially true coming from BC since it has to stop at BW first. Definitely cut through by the pool. The only time we ever take the boat is if we see it arriving at DHS as we are leaving, and then we always get off at the Swan/Dolphin.

We have always walked to Epcot- I think it takes less time to walk to Epcot than it does to walk out to the lighthouse and catch the boat! Never have walked to DHS, but we are planning to in the future- those boats can be SOOOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW....:rotfl:

I agree, but that is not nearly as tough to understand as are the complaints about the long hallways, LOL.

We always try to walk at least one way to/from DHS, usually coming back to the hotel, because it is so pleasant and it really is faster than waiting for a boat. We've beaten the boats many times.

I agree! Although there are situations that I understand (disability, old age), I laugh when I hear the multitude of complaints about long hallways at Disney. When I read that, I realize why so much of us in this country are out of shape. When I was at the Boardwalk and encountered one of those unusually long stretches of hallway, I'd walk outside and enjoy the landscaping along the building. I am not sure if some people would be happy unless they had a room right on a monorail stop, just feet away from the entrance to a restaurant.

That's because many visitors do not represent Middle America. They represent America's Middle. :lmao:
