Walking to Captains Grill?

We have an early breakfast reservation at Captains Grill one morning. I read that you can walk there on a path from Epcot so we were considering taking our resort bus to Epcot then walking to breakfast - but my question is, do you have to go into Epcot to access this walkway? Hoping there is a way to access the walkway without entering the park, since the park won't be open yet. Thanks!

You Have to go through the park.

Though you could walk from DHS. Not sure if the distance but less than from the epcot front hates.

You have to enter the park and walk through Epcot to access the walkway, so this won't work if Epcot isn't open yet. You'd exit through the World Showcase International Gateway (basically the back gate) to get to the Epcot resorts. There's no separate path outside the bounds of the park.

Cab is probably your only choice for an early morning trip to YC, unfortunately.

Ok thanks! One other question - we are planning to head to Epcot after breakfast - the park will be open but World Showcase won't be open yet. Can you go through the walking path / international gateway once Future World is open? Or does that path only open at 11, once the World Showcase opens? Thanks again!!

You could bus to Hollywood Studios and walk from there. The bus stops are outside of the park, so it does not yet need to be open. But it needs to be close enough to opening for the buses to be running to DHS.

You can enter the International Gateway entrance to Epcot before 11 AM

They'll let you in the Gateway once Epcot opens, usually a few minutes before stated opening time. And you get to walk through a very empty WS and take some excellent photos!

Cab is probably your only choice for an early morning trip to YC, unfortunately.

Uber/Lyft is becoming a big presence around WDW. It usually is less than a cab - but not always, so do your homework

Take the DHS bus and then either walk or take the boat to the YC. The walk from DHS to the YC is about the same distance as the walk from the Epcot bus stop to the YC. Allow about 20 minutes to walk or about 20 for the boat, once it arrives.
After breakfast you can enter Epcot through the International Gateway. It opens at park opening for the resort guests.
