I know it's 10-12 minutes from DLH to DL, but I'm wondering about the times from the Good Neighbor hotels (the ones within walking distance, not shuttle).

Is there a site that lists the approx time to DL from the hotel

This link lists some walking distances, measured in feet:

"How Far Is It?" by Alex Stroup

Alex Stroup used a software tool called Gmaps Pedometer to measure the walking distances from the closest rooms, and also from the farthest rooms.

Based on the above link, here are some approximate average* walking times (from the closest room and from the farthest room):
(* using an average walking speed of 3 miles/hour)

Best Western Park Place Inn: 5 to 7 minutes

Fairfield Inn: 8 to 10 minutes

Howard Johnson (HoJo): 10 to 11.5 minutes

Candy Cane Inn: 11 to 13 minutes

Anabella: 13.5 to 17 minutes

The following link shows the locations of the nearby hotels/motels:

(The information on the above web-site is a bit dated, but the map is helpful.)

HTH :earsboy:

We just returned from a stay at the Candy Cane Inn. The walk is slightly less than 10 minutes. We never had a problem walking it.

Ok. THis may sound SO anal & ridiculous but we google mapped the GNH's & DLH - then measured the distance to the gates. Yes. We are dorks. :rolleyes1

From DLH to the gates I THINK (if memory serves) it was 8 yds. But from DI&S, it was only 4!!! So we stayed there. It was between 5-10 min I'd say.

It took longer to walk to Paridise Pier (10 min) than to walk to HOJO (8 min) - although IMO I was happy to stay "on resort" and walk a bit further - I liked walking though DTD early morning before anyone was out and about :)

We are staying at DL hotel for the first time and I can say that I won't miss crossing the traffic on Harbor Blvd and watching the time tick away as the traffic light gets ready to change.

I always went thru the grand californian and thought the walk was fast. do people walk all the way thru down town disney to get to paradise pier?

Just to add since I was just there it takes about 15-20 to walk from the Holiday Inn on Walnut.

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn which is on the same side of Harbor Blvd. as the parks. This was a nice perk of staying there. We didn't have to worry about crossing Harbor Blvd. The only place we had to cross was a driveway going into a parking lot. There was never a problem of heavy traffic there.

We did cross Harbor Blvd. one time to walk to Garden Walk. All I can say is NOT FUN!!! Even with the walk signal, it was abit scary. :scared:
