Walking time for DTD from the Parks?

How far (minutes) is DTD from the parks? Is it better to do monorail or does that just end up taking more time?

Same questions for Disneyland Hotel? What is the walking time from the parks?

Approx 5 minutes at a good walking pace,, Monorail is not the best way to get into D/L in the morning... long lines and for less than the time it would take you to board etc.. you can walk to the parks... you will go through bag check.. which would take longer on the Monorail.. due to there being more checks open etc..
Hotel would add on just a few more minutes... from the parks.. it is not a long journey

You can see DTD from the Esplande (the area between DL and DCA). So, while it might sound a bit flip, you can really get to DTD from the parks in under a minute. The entire walk from the Esplande to DLH Entrance through DTD is a little less than half of a mile. I think most folks can make the walk in 10-15 minutes without pushing it. The monorail is fun, but unless you're already in TL, the monorail is nearly there, and you want to go the far end of DTD, it's faster to walk. I'd say in most cases it's faster to walk.

The DLH is at one end of DTD and the bag check/Esplanade is at the other end of DTD. As soon as you go thru the bag check, you are in the Esplanade. Look left and you will see the gates into Disneyland, look right and you see the gates to DCA. It's that close. I agree that walking from one end of DTD, say from DLH to the Esplanade would take 10-15min, depending on how crowded it is. First thing in the morning, probably 5-10min depending on how fast you walk. When we stayed at DLH in Nov, we used the monorail a few times because I hated weaving around shoppers in DTD! We never waited more than 5-10min for a monorail to come.
