I understand the basics of how "walking" works. My question has to do with calling MS to drop/add. Do you have to call MS at exactly 9am in order to drop the first day and add the new last day or can you call anytime during the day? If you don't call at 9am could you lose the day you want to add?
 
When walking a reservation, if you book 7 days, you have effectively taken that room out of the inventory for those seven days. So, you could technically wait until the 7th day to call and drop the previous days and add more days. For example, if you want to check in on the 5th of the month, you can call on the 1st (or even the 29th or 30th of the previous month) and make a reservation for 7 nights. You can then call on the 5th of the month to drop the first 4 nights and then extend the stay to check out on the 12th. If you want to check out on the 14th, you can call back on the 7th and add the last two nights.

Once you book seven nights of any room type, anyone calling the day after your 11 month mark cannot get that room until your check-out day.

Thank you! Calling every day seems like a pain. Also, making fewer calls limits possible error, too.
 
Is it possible to do any of this online? i.e. cancel the entire rezzie and rebook?

Unfortunately, it cannot be done online. As soon as you cancel a reservation online, it goes back into the available inventory, which defeats the purpose of walking. Only MS can remove days from an existing reservation.
