I believe that there is a boat between MGM and Epcot, which stops at a few resorts on the way, which we would like to try this time. I thought I remembered reading on these boards about a path between the two parks (although I may have imagined this!) If there is, is it a pretty (and not too strenuous) walk?

To walk from MGM to Epcot, you would take a very pleasant walk along the pathway from MGM to the Boardwalk. Then you would walk the length of the Boardwalk to the International Gateway and into Epcot. The complete trip would be pretty long, but if you're a walker it is very doable. I haven't timed it, but I'd say it takes 30-45 minutes. Keeping in mind that I love to walk and walk daily at home, I found this to be a very pleasant walk and much quicker and more pleasant than taking the boats. :)

After a long day at the park, it's a LONG walk for me. I almost always end up taking the boat back to BWV and DH does the walk. But it is a nice walk. No big hills. Good lighting.

The walk from MGM to BWV depends on how good of a walker you and how tired you are and if you have little ones. For me it's about 15 minutes. Then the walk from BWV to Epcot is between 7 and 10 minutes also depending on how tired you are.

So I'd say it's about 30 minutes max, but probably less.

The boat is 20 minutes to the resorts so it another 10 to Epcot I think.

DH always beats me back to the room when he walks!

Im thinking I may try it (just to say I did it) one morning while DS is still sleeping. However after 1 wk already at VWL I may be sleeping myself those mornings our 2nd wk while at BCV!
I wont be trying it when I have him w/me

We stay at the BoardWalk Villas most trips. The boat ride is very nice, and one of our favorite ways to get around, but it is not 'rapid transit'. I would say it takes close to an hour one-way between the Studios and Epcot, considering the unloading/loading times at each dock (Studios, Swan/Dolphin, BoardWalk, Yacht Club, Epcot). If we are in a hurry, we walk.

We went to Fantasmic one night and it got over just in time for us to walk over to Epcot and catch Illuminations.

You walk along the water to Boardwalk, then through the Boardwalk over to the Intertnational Gateway. I didn't think it was too strenuous a walk.

The boat ride is a 30 minute ride between the Studios and Epcot.

I'm glad someone posted this because I've been curious about this and wanted to try it when we are there in August. People mention walking over to Boardwalk from MGM...but where from MGM do you walk over there?

When you exit the Studios the path to the Boardwalk is to your right.
It's well marked; you can't miss it.

Actually, the path is to your LEFT, across the canal from the boat dock.

:cool1:

During the slower winter season I timed the boat ride from MGM to IG at EPCOT and the ride took 24 minutes. That was from dock to dock, with a small crowd and didn't count waiting time.

In the past when I've been trying to get from MGM to Epcot via the boat, I'll take the boat to the first stop, and walk to Epcot from there.

Actually, as you exit the park, the walkway to the resorts is to your RIGHT and the boatdock is to your left.
