Can someone give detailed directions as to how to get from EPCOT to MGM on foot?

I assume you head through Int'l Gateway toward Boardwalk. From there, where do you go?

Thanks!

The easiest, most uncomplicated way is to exit the International Gateway, go over towards the Boardwalk, walk the entire length of the Boardwalk, make a left after Jellyrolls and there's the start of the path.

The shortcut would be to get to the middle of the Boardwalk, where the surrey bike rental is. Make a left and go through the "alley" next to the art gallery. That leads back to the Luna Pool. Go across the pool area. At the other side is the back of the Boardwalk and the pathway.

It's not a hugely marked walkway but it you are on the back side of the Boardwalk, it's the walkway right along the canal. The Swan will be across the canal.

Yes, head out of the International Gateway and over to the Boardwalk. Walk all the way around the Boardwalk toward Atlantic Dance Hall and Jellyrolls. As you get to this end of the Boardwalk you will see the walkways head off to your left. There will be a Disney's Boardwalk overhead archway sign thing that leads to a couple of bridges that lead to the Swan/Dolphin or back toward the Yacht and Beach Club. You don't wan to go this way. To your left will be another walkway that follows along the canal. This leads you to MGM. From this point it's probably a 10 to 15 minute walk, under a highway overpass and along the canal, until you get to the MGM parking and entrance area.

All told, from International Gateway to MGM Turnstiles you are looking at a 25 minute walk........maybe less if you walk fast.

I highly recommend the shortcut - it will save you ~10 minutes.

Here's an aerial map that shows the first half of the trip, from International Gateway to the Boardwalk:

And this is the half from Boardwalk to MGM:
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=h&om=0&z=17&ll=28.361524,-81.556814&spn=0.006004,0.008647

Thr trail itself is easy to see on these aerials - it's a beige-looking ribbon of pavement on the east side of the canal.

As you can see, the part from Jellyrolls to MGM is almost twice as long as the park from IG to Jellyrolls, and most of it is in totally open terrain with no shade, and no shelter from rain or wind. It's a pleasant walk in pleasant weather, but in summer heat or in rain I wouldn't even try it - I take the boat.

For a map look at it, go here:

Scroll down to the Bordwalk Resort map & click. On the left side, you can see the walkway to MGM that goes behind the Boardwalk Resort. In the upper center of this map, you can see the boardwalk as it goes toward Epcot's International Gateway.

Here's a pic as the walkway winds around behind the Boardwalk Resort headed toward MGM.

Well, you start by putting your left foot in front of the right foot, then you push down with the left foot, to propel yourself forward, and then the right foot is free, and can swing forward to be in front of the left foot ... ;)

Take the freindship and relax.

It is quite a walk, this is good advice. I like to walk to either from the Boardwalk, but from one to the other I think the frienship is the best way personally.
