Walking from akl

Does anyone know if it is possible to walk from akl jambo to ak park?

You have to take a short bus ride to AK.

You cannot walk to AK from AKL.

The route which you would need to walk would put you on the highway which is not only dangerous but also illegal. You need to take vehicle to get there.

There are many reasons you shouldn't walk from AKL to DAK. But "needing to walk on a highway" isn't one of them. The route could be done entirely walking along surface streets.

I'm interested in running in the AKV area... DisneyWalker, can you describe how to get around in that area on foot without going on the highway? DH and I are running the TofT 13K, and we will have a 4 miler and a 2 miler at WDW the days before the race. I really need a 2 mile loop.

I know I read on a post that a woman's daughter had mapped out a 2 mile loop around AKV, but I just can't remember the user's name or the thread. I have also read that you can check with Guest Relations at the resort and sometimes they will have a jogging map made up.

I did find a link that shows all the resorts except for AKL/AKV, which doesn't sound good for AKV. It sort of sounds like Disney thinks the guests at AKV are all sedentary or use the workout room. Here's the link:

There is a really old thread that went on for several pages. The gist of the thread was no. There is no walkway and the area is undeveloped and walking off road is not recommended due to gators and snakes.

Unfortunately, you can't. You are stuck with either the gym (which is *very* nice) or loops of the parking lot.

If you are interested in either busing or driving out of AKL, I'd be happy to draw a few 2 and 4 mile loops for you. Just let me know...

The walkway between Jambo House and Kidani Village is supposed to be about a half mile long. You could run that path and add on a bit in the parking lot, but that's about the best you can do at AKL/AKV. Unless you want to do two and four miles on the treadmill.
