so i'm totally silly and as I was waiting for the bus the other day at the bus stop I was practicing my walk for down the aisle... step right, feet together, step left, feet together ... and I felt really silly doing it (probably because I was at the bus stop!) :rolleyes1

but anyway, that's how you all walked down the aisle right? I mean did you do it that way or just walk like normal down the aisle?

I felt really silly doing it but I know that's the traditional way... I suppose you're supposed to walk slowly so everyone can see you? Also my dad who's walking me down the aisle walks with a cane (though I bet he will be stubborn and not use it!:sad2: ) so I have to walk slow with him anyway.

you are not silly for asking!

I was thinking the same thing as well. Many of my friends didn't want to do the traditional left foot, right foot, so they had their BM's casually walk down the aisle.

This, however, backfired, as all the girls ended up racing down the aisle!:lmao: One of them was so quick that the girls would all reach eachother half way down the line!

I also would like to know what worked for other brides. Is traditional played out?

lol! At least I wont have this problem because it's just going to be me and my sister walking down the aisle.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the traditional walk... maybe I'll experiment with it... it just feels so.. I dunno, stuffy and beauty queen like, if that makes any sense.

I didn't have much of an aisle on Sunrise Terrace, but I didn't want to do the step - together - step thing (I also didn't like the traditional bridal march music) so daddy and I just walked really slowly. We had only my MOH as an attendant and she walked really slowly too.

Whatever you do will be wonderful - it's your day - do what makes you happy!!

If I remember correctly, my wedding planner told me NOT to do the step, together, step, together walk. She said to just walk naturally, but slowly.

Myself and my girls just walked down the isle. If if we had done the step-together-step it would have taken us a long time to get there. We also didn't use the traditional wedding song as neither DH nor myself care for it. I honestly couldn't tell you what we walked to but it was done by a bagpipe player.

I did do the traditional march down the isle for a friends wedding and it was terrible as the GM and I were not in step. But then that was for a bridezillas wedding who wouldn't ahve it any other way.

walked normal too.....& it looked fine on the video....i think the step thing looks a little to robotic...go for natural;)

I tried to walk normally, but the combo of not having really walked in my shoes and trying not to step on my swaying hoopskirt made me feel like I was walking kind of funny...I have yet to see the video, but when I do, I'll let you all know if it looked really awkward! LOL

I like the "natural" walk much better than the robot walk, personally! If that's what makes you more comfortable, then go for it :cool1:

We also did the natural walk. I'm not a fan of the robotic walk and I had 2 jr. bridesmaids, and I am pretty sure there would have been no way to convince them to do the step, together, step thing.

My dad was really good at keeping my walk slow on the way down the aisle, but on the way back up, DH & I apparently walked really fast.

I am going to do the natural step. I am walking down to Canon in D and think that it will be much nicer on video if I walk naturally.
