Does anyone know if you can walk from RPR to WetnWild? On the map it looks realy close but these maps are not very accurate. It would really be great if it was possible. :sunny:

I would not do it with really little kids, but it does seem doable. Certainly less than a mile as the crow flies. Why don't you mapquest the two to see how far apart they are? Post the results, if you do so.

The hotel has a free shuttle that will take you to Wet N Wild.

Mapquest says .97 miles. probably too far ifyoure tired, just depends. I know about the shuttle but have heard things like it only runs in the morning and at night, and was worried we wouldnt want to stay all day. Does anyoneknow if thats true?

Useful info there - do you have the bus timetable for Busch Gardens?

Perhaps you could take a cab back? We took a cab back to our hotel (acrosss from Universal) the first time we visited (1999) and it was about $3. At that point, it was much better than waiting for the shuttle back to the hotel.

It's certainly walkable - we have done it several times - there are a couple of major junctions to cross but I would guess it takes about 20 minutes . If you exit Universal through the bus drop off area / taxi rank then it's a straight walk down the road ( I believe it's Universal Boulevard )

It is doable, but there are a couple of areas that have no sidewalks. We did the walk once, but it was in July...much too hot to do at that time of year.

It certainly is walkable because last year I walked to Universal from the Best Western Movieland hotel which is directly opposite Wet n' Wild. There are sidewalks all the way on one side of the road and it brings you to the bus/taxi pick up area near the car parks. In terms of actual walking distance it would have taken me about fifteen minutes to do, but it was nearer 25 because it took so long to cross certain roads.

However, it's not that easy. At one of the junctions, I found the lights just didn't work - I pressed the button again and again and waited for a good five minutes but never got a WALK symbol, so you had to guess when it was safe to cross (across six lanes!). Then at another junction there were no pedestrian lights at all! Okay this road is only two lanes wide, but Universal has quite helpfully decided to plant large bamboo style plants right on that corner, creating a blind spot so you can't see if there's any traffic coming your way (and drivers can't see you until the last second either)!

So if you're not confident about crossing roads 'blind' then you may still want to consider a taxi!
