I am sorry to ask this question since I know so many others have asked it. I have read the other posts and still am not sure. Can a WDW Vet help me understand the walking distance from the Disney Land Hotel to the entrances to the parks? Is it the equivalent of walking from the Monorail station at MK to the entrance of MK or is it a lot further? Thanks!

It is like walking from the garden wing of the Contemporary to the front gate of the MK.

LOL, it's a long way after a few days in the parks and if you have to give your tired son a piggy back ride all the way! :goodvibes
The cool thing is you can take the monorail and it'll take you 2/3s of the way.

It is an easy walk, have made it many, many times. If you would like a shorter walk, you can get on the monorail by the Rainforest Cafe. Take the monorail into the park to futureland, between the submarine and autotopia. If you wanted to go to DCA, simply cut throught the Grand Hotel and use it's entrance to DCA. Relax and have FUN....:cool1:

Remember when it was solid parking lot?? We would not have dreamed of walking it!
Now it's a pleasant stroll through DTD......

ENJOY, the sights and sounds!

I've been examining a map of Disneyland for the better part of an hour now, and can't locate futureland. How long is the walk from futureland to Disneyland?

The wife renamed Tomorrowland to Futureland sometime back, everyone in our house has known about this for a while. I would venture to guess the good people at DL that do the map upgrades have not recieved the memo yet. Sorry, for any confusion this may have caused....:cool1:

The DL guidebook I'm reading right now gives walking times from the nearby hotels. They say 11 minutes from the Adventure Tower, 10 minutes from the Fantasy Tower, 12 minutes from the Frontier Tower.

It's like walking from Epcot's entrance to Journey into Imagination except your walking through Downtown Disney which is kind of cool.

I think the walk is not far at all, you literally walk right through DD then to the entrance of the parks. That's why we stay at the DLH whenever we go, I love being so close to DD and the parks!! :woohoo:

The wife booked christmas at the DLH for us lastnight. Believe it or not the best rates she could find were through Disney Travel. When we do not ride the monorail to Futurelandpixiedust: to start our day, we like the walk through downtown disney to the turnstyles. Christmas at DisneyLand, ya need to try it at least once....:cool1:

That's why we like to always book through WDTC when staying at the resort hotels, especially the DLH!! I love the walk through DD especially at night. :cool1:

Just a heads up. Unlike WDW, where the monorail runs for a while after the park closes to get guests out, the DL monorail stops running at the exact listed closing time for the park.

My Husband apparently uses your wife's map. ;)

We are WDW vets. The walk is nothing when you are used to WDW. We really enjoy it. We stop for beignets in DTD at least one morning. In the evenings there is often live music.

The wife is still waiting on the map updates. Maybe the Memo was misplaced or lost in the mail. We will have our people, get with your people to set up a conference to discuss this issue. Due to her demanding schedule, it may be the last part of november before we may commit to any time table:surfweb:
