newbie here. I didn't see any search function, so pardon me if this is a repeat question.
Does anyone know the approximate walking distance from the Boardwalk Resort to Epcot and MGM?

It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the International Gateway at Epcot. I never walked to MGM but I believe it's about 20 minutes? Anybody ever walked it?

DD thought the friendship boats were a ride (and she's 14!) so getting her to walk instead of taking the boat was like pulling teeth!

The walk from MGM to the Boardwalk can be about 12-20 minutes depending on where your room is located and how fast you walk. We had a baby with us so we took our time and it took us about 15 minutes.

It is indeed about an 8 minute walk to the Gateway from BW. We did make it to MGM in 8 minutes last Sunday evening. But that was almost an open jog!!! And we started from the quiet pool area. So, in reality it should take about 15 minutes at a relaxed pace.

I am glad to hear the walk is not too long! We are leaving Friday for our first stay at the BWI and are so excited!! Any tips on a room location to ask for? We have a standard room booked and have three young children. Would love to have easy access to the boardwalk and pool area! :D

Thanks!

Therese

I'll be running all around the EPCOT resorts this coming Saturday, training for the WDW 1/2 marathon in 34 days!

From the bridge connecting the Boardwalk and the Swan, it is 0.75 miles to the gate at MGM. If you come out the main entrance to the BW, walk down the sidewalk on the right side of the entrance road and turn right behind the tennis courts and pick up the path there, it's a bit shorter.

It is 0.83 miles around Crescent Lake if you're not cutting the corners closely.

Unfortunately I've not GPS'd the distance from the BW to the EPCOT International Gateway. It's close, probably 1/3 of a mile.

I'll do the BW to MGM and back and Crescent Lake figure 8 five times Saturday. If you see me wave

The walk took us about 12 minutes and that was pushing 2 stollers. It is really a nice easy walk, I preferred it to the boat. I also have young children and loved the kiddie pool and playground area. It is a great resort Enjoy

Unless you are very, very slow, it's faster to walk than taking the boat. We always walked and always beat the boat. In fact it turned into a challenge for us!

Calcio or anyone who knows,

Do you think it would take about 30 mins to walk from International Gateway all the way to MGM? Anyone out there ever done it?

The boat ride is nice once or twice, but long and grueling on repeat rides. We had two screaming toddlers one night out of MGM (not their fault, the parents kept them out too late) during the duration of the ride and I was tempted to leap into Cresent Lake and swim back to Epcot. :headache:

Thirty minutes should be just fine. You can save 4 or 5 minutes by cutting through the BW themed pool area (Luna Park). Go through the "Village Green" area (across from the boat dock), through the covered underpass to the pool area, and exit the pool area onto the path toward MGM instead of walking all the way to the end of the BW near the bridge.

You can also walk under the Boardwalk lobby. When you get to the village green turn left and yu'll see the sunny tunnel that takes you into the front of the Boardwalk. Stay to the right side of the traffic circle and walk down the hill on the sidewalk. Once over the bridge turn right, and head for the tennis courts. This will intersect the path to MGM, and cuts off a few more yards and minutes. 30 minutes is very doable without pushing it.

For StaceyA, when I'm at the Boardwalk alone I make the International Gateway to my room in about 5 minutes. And I wonder why my wife complains about getting shin splints when we're on vacation together.

Thanks a bunch for the info -- I will add it to my helpful hints list. :flower1:
