Does anyone have a photo they could share of the "walking coral reef" (CM's in costume) that we saw outside The Living Seas building at EPCOT? They were so detailed and amazing!

We were enchanted by them, but alas had forgotten to bring our camera with us that morning. We are trying to remember it, and hoping that someone has a photo of it we could view. So if you have one you dont mind sharing, could you please post it here for us to see?

TIA

They are stil walkers. I've never seen them. I'm not sure they are still out. But i do know what you are talking about. it's a rare thing to see. I think they only come out on high attendance days. The same thing with Nemo.

Here's a couple from July :sunny:

J.C.&ALI'SMOM -- thanks so much for posting your photos! That is what we saw one morning at EPCOT when we came out from Turtle Talk with Crush!!!

They are incredible looking -- and yes, we saw them during a very crowded, busy day at WDW (Spring Break / Easter time).

Watch out!
If they're in a playful mood, they squirt water at ya!

I call them "Anemones of the People".

We saw this back in July too and got quite a shock. Nemo was out as well and we were getting a picture of DS2 with Nemo. A family of foreign descent had two boys that were being really wild. They were climbing on the wall behind Nemo and running around and hitting on Nemo. All of this was making it difficult to take the picture w/o them in it. They had already visited Nemo and the Coral but just hadn't moved on yet. The CM asked the boys to stop climbing on the wall and to move out from behind Nemo so that we could get our picture. I didn't want to take up too much time as others were waiting as well so I went ahead and took a couple of photos figuring I could crop them out later. We moved over to the Coral who was just a little ways away from Nemo. DS2, DD11 & DD8 were now waiting to pose with the Coral while the boys from behind Nemo had now moved back to the Coral. The boys start pushing on the Coral and trying to poke him in the face. They did this a few times and I kept expecting the parents to say something but of course they didn't. Anyway after about 3 times the Coral made a quick movement from inside the costume and grabbed the boys hand to stop the boy from poking him in the face. The Coral then proceeded to fuss at the boy - in a very Disney like manner but was very stern in his voice. The boy then left a little shocked but still smiling and laughing. My 3 kids, my wife and I were shocked by what had just happened. We have never heard a costumed character talk and just weren’t expecting it. However in that situation I’m glad the CM did! We took our pictures, thanked the Coral and moved on. I really felt bad for that CM having to put up with that junk. BTW the other CM's were by Nemo so they didn't see what the kids were doing to the Coral.

J.C.&ALI'SMOM, thanks so much for posting the pics! What an amazing costume!

ImprovGal, that's easily the funniest pun I've heard today -- I didn't know whether to groan or snicker!

YOU Rock ......J.C.&ALI'SMOM :rockband:

WoW ... I never saw that but will certainly check it out next time!!

Thanks a Bunch :thanks: :grouphug:

I'm very surprised the Coral didn't have a handler to stop the boy. :confused3 The sad thing is that if a supervisor had heard him the performer likely would have been in a lot of trouble, but in that case and from the build of the costume I could see that being poked in the face area would be a major health hazzard. I don't blame him at all.

We saw them on the first of August - it was really neat! We also got to get our pics with Nemo that day as well. The "Coral" just kinda leaned against the light pole - we saw him/her/it leave and it walked really neat!

OHhhhhh!! :lmao:

.

We just saw them on Friday, August 4. I knew they moved because I saw one walking, but lots of people didn't know that. The one we took a photo of held still while DS was standing there, but then a lady asked the handler for directions and the Coral sort of jumped out at her. It was hilarious! I guess she didn't realize the guy was a character handler so she didn't realize there must be a character nearby.

When I was near the Living Seas for the first time 2 years ago there was one just standing there, and I though it was a really pretty decoration!

I then walked away to look at something else, and I was hearing funny little sounds, but I ignored them... I turned around to look at my boyfriend, and I had the coral standing a a feet away for me!! I let out a little scream, and my heart almost stopped!!! Every body around me was laughing pretty hard...my bf was almost rolling on the floor!!! :rotfl:

Now I admire those things from away... and boyfriend chuckles every time we see them!!! :p

He should have. Nemo needs 2 attendants to bring him out, so one should have been with Nemo, and one should have been with Coral.
