Walking Club1 3miles 3x week

Got my three miles in today. :yay:

Took the weekend off, wish I hadn't but, there it is. :confused3 I need to be taking this time for me or I'm going to fall into depression and gain back a bunch of weight. Sigh. The changes really do need to be forever.

Going to a local 4th celebration at DS#2 college campus today. Should be fun and I'll be getting out of the house.

I did my 3 miles outside this morning. It was hot!!! I sweat a ton more than I usually do on the treadmill. I walked with a friend this morning and it made the walk so much more enjoyable! Wish I could do that all the time . . .

4.93 on Saturday, 3.93 on Sunday & 4.81 today. Not sure what Fri/Sat will bring as I'm having a garage sale & if I'm not home before about 8:15 a.m., I can't take the extreme heat at this altitude. Gonna try!

Keep moving, everyone! Doing GREAT!

Oh no, did this thread die?

Well, I did my three miles again today. :cool1:

Hope everyone is managing to walk some.

Good for you shelwoj!!!

I didn't walk yesterday, or today. We leave Sunday for our vacation (sadly not to Disney) and I've been trying to pack and get everything together. Excuses, excuses, I know.

I must do better!

I was suppose to walk yesterday but didnt. We went out to dinner and i was to stuffed and tired to walk. I did manage to get my socks on and fell over and went to sleep-lol!
I noticed that the top i had on for dinner fit a lil baggy that it looked sloppy. Usually i have my tummy roll to make it look forn fitting-lol1 I changed to a smaller size top and dh said it looked better and more form fitting compare to the 1st top i had on. I told him it means the walking is working-lol!

I also noticed that at dinner I ate less food and got full faster:cool1:
I'm also not as hungry and havent been craving sweets. The only sweets I've had has been strawberries:goodvibes good healthy sweets-

Well I'll admit I didnt want to do my 3 miles but i did. Once i got on the treadmill it was a good walk. i think the hardest part is getting on and getting started. So 3 miles completed for me.

I think this week might be hard for many with the 4th of july 3 day weekend, bbq, the heat and traveling. Just get back on track when you can. I havent lost weight yet but noticed my blouse felt a lil baggy:cool1: cant wait to see if thers any more results by july 23rd

How is everyone doing?????? The thread seems kinda quiet. If your struggling and need motivation let us know. If your only able to do 2 days that a good start just keep going. I know at times I feel like not walking and I have to push myself. I think I will be at the 3 x a week for awhile until it becomes a habbit-lol! I'd like to hear how your all doing. If anyone has moved on to 5 days a week feeel free to start another thread for your category.

I was tempted to walk this morning but I have so much stauff to do today that I hate getting all hot and sweaty of course i'd take a shower but my body will just feel uugh after. Plus its hot here. So I'm scheduled to walk tonight. My dd12 has been setting up her ipod onto my treadmill so i can listen to her music. At first i was oh gee that great dear but I'll just listen to my own. The look on her face how could i resist:confused3. Actually it was good music and made my workout go faster-lol!btw- Mypant feel good not so tight:cool1::cool1:

Hi gang! I'm new here, but I am enjoying this thread.:thumbsup2 Ido not have the stamina (yet) to go three miles a day, but I am doing 1 mile a day, 5-6 days a week. So far I've lost 44 lbs, and have much more to lose, but one step at a time, it's working.:cheer2:

Great job on the 44lbs lost. How long did it take you to lose it? Did you do it just by walking or are you dieting too?

I have been walking mostly. I did stat eating better, too. I don't call it a diet. It's more of a lifestyle change. I am eating lower on the food chain- fruits, veggies, whole grains, and I avoid processed foods whenever possible. I started in April.

I need to start eating more veggies. This is only my 2md weeks so i havent lost anything but I have notice a change in my body. My clothes dont feel as tight so thats a good sign:goodvibes. Today I also had a lot of energy which i notmally dont have. Feels good:cool1:

Sounds like your doing great and losing lbs at a healthy rate:thumbsup2

Ok I completed my 3 miles for today. I upped the speed to 3.3 and it wasnt a smart idea. I was able to finish in 55m39sec but my lungs were overworked so i need to up my speed slowly from 3.0 to 3.1.

I've also been keeping a record of my workouts on map my walk . I dont understand the walking using the map so i just record my workouts and I like it. I have to give credit to a disser for the map my walk. I'll have to go check who shared the info about that site. I'll be back it was qtwns thanks for sharing :)

Thanks for the encouragement! I really like that new V-8 Fusion, that gives you a serving of veggies with yur fruit drink. You might try that, if you haven't already. I've also found that a lot of veggies taste better to me lately than they used to. Especially spinach. I can't get enough spinach salad!

Hi everyone. I am joining the thread late, but I finished my 10th straight day of 3 mile walking this morning. I average between 48 and 50 minutes for the 3 miles. I have lost 5.6 lbs in 10 days. YEAH!!:cheer2: The biggest thing though is I cut out the eating out. That has been harder than the walking. I prefer walking outside, because it is easier for me to quit on the treadmill. We mapped 1.5 miles from the house. Once I make it 1.5 miles, if I want to get home again, I gave no choice but to finish the 3 miles.

This morning, my DH and DS had to leave the house super early. That meant I had to take my DD8 on the walk with me. She did awesome. We finished in 51 minutes. I do admit that I bribed her though. I told her that if we finished in under 60 mins. that I would fix her an ice cream sundae after lunch. She practically ran to make sure she finished in time. LOL

I started walking the 3 miles after reading the thread by Ann. I had lost 30 lbs last year while my DH was deployed, but I gained back 20 when he came home. I really need to lose 50 lbs. We are moving to CO in December, which happens to be the least obese state in the Union, so I figure it wouldn't be nice for me to ruin their reputation. For the sake of CO's status as least obese, I am losing weight for them. LOL

I crashed and burned. :upsidedow I had told myself that after a few days of doing this, it wasn't working. (It was.)

After a few days of doing the walking at the end of June, I noticed that I had lost a few pounds (perhaps water weight, but pounds nonetheless) as well as I was starting to tone up a little around my waist. For whatever reason (lazy :rolleyes1) I took "a day off". A week later, :rolleyes1 I started walking again. (Today.)

In that one week I had been walking, I had lost weight and toned up. I also was starting to feel better about myself. I guess the whole endorphin thing really is true. Well, in the one week I was not walking, I was actually more stiff and sore than when I had been walking, and I also gained 5 pounds! In one week! :scared1: I'm hoping it's just water weight. That whole "my stomach seems more toned" thing was lost too. :sad2:

So if nothing else, I convinced myself the walking is worth it! :lmao:

I did 60 minutes today, which turned out to be 3.5 miles. :thumbsup2

I'll haved to try it.Plus add some fresh veggies. Iactually like veggies. For awhile I was hooked on italian squash. I'd grace it al by itself cokked in my lil electric grill pan-lol!

Well on a positive note your back on track:thumbsup2

Today was my day off from walking. I would like to walk 5 days a week but theres no way with my foot. I dont wanna over do it. I went to the chriopractor today but only thing it did was clear my sinuses and a good nap when i got home. My foot is still bothering me, and I can feel the nerve in my right butt-cheek when i sit now guess its siatic nerve?/:confused3 and now my lower right side of back feels like it needs to be popped hurts when i sit up straight. Hopefully its just my body trying to get use to being in alignment:confused3 and tomorrow I will feel better cuz i need to do my 3 miles!!!!!!!!. I havent lost any weight but clothes do feel better

I have fallen off the wagon and want back on!!! I haven't walked in over a week after a great start. I started having foot pain and walked myself right into a huge blister. But my clothes were fitting a tad better and I felt so much better physically and emotionally. I'm needing some encouragement. I have some other things going on on life right now and I'm sure walking would help me 'deal.'.

Hope everyone is sticking with it! Have a great Sunday!!

I walked for 60 minutes today. I did 3.6 miles. In two days, I've walked 7.1 miles!

qtwns-How is your blister? Maybe try some Moleskin or maybe a different type of sock. I use socks that I got when I did my half marathons. They are from a sports store and they help keep my foot dry. And even if you can't quite do 3 miles, even 1 or 2 will be beneficial.

Thanks, Where'sPiglet! The blister is all better. I will take your advice on the socks. I'm afraid now that a blister is the least of my walking hurdles ... I fell today and either broke or badly sprained my foot/ankle. :headache: So, I'll be taking a break until this heals. :sad2:

Y'all hang in there and I'll be back with you as soon as I can. :thumbsup2
