Walking Canes in the parks

Canes are allowed but you need to watch others I use a cane when not on my scooter and had several people accidentally kick it. I don't use mine for balance but if I did might have fallen down people are so busy looking at everything they don't notice canes

Yes. They do allow canes. Actually must allow because of ADA. However, sword-sticks are prohibited.

I use a cane in the parks, but I can understand this question-for several years, I never saw anyone else using a cane. However, on my last visit a few months ago, I finally saw several other canes. I've never had the problem of anyone else bumping into me with my cane, and since I have extreme balance issues, I'd notice. However, I must say that everyone I encountered was extremely nice and helpful.

I used to bring my cane to the parks, but after it being kicked out from under me about 3 times, I decided it was safer to leave it home and just hold onto my dh instead.

My DH is actually the worst offender for accidentally kicking my cane. Now I insist that he stay on the side without the cane. But when we are in the parks I am mostly in my wheelchair, only getting out of it to enter rides or to sit down at a TS restaurant. I do rely on it for balance, and would be lost without it.

Op you may want to consider a folding cane. Dh found it very convenient when riding rides. He could tuck not in the pocket in front I him or just put it next to uom

There were a couple of rides where I had to leave my cane with the CM and get it back after the ride. The only one I remember for sure was TOT. It was waiting for me when I got off, no problem at all.
