Walking a Reservation - like I am 5 years old.

Hi! I am about to close on my points and am hoping to have my membership ID number by this time next month in order to make a reservation for the DREADED FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER.

I am buying at SSR but would like to try to get AKL Standard View 2 bedroom ( Kidani if possible) this trip from November 30th- December 6th

I have 160 points coming on 12/1/15 and 122 banked points that can be used from 12/1/15 -11/30/16.

I will have to borrow points from the 12/1/15 use year for the first 2 days of the reservation.

My plan is on April 23rd to try to walk the reservation. Do I try to book AKL from November 23rd-the 30th on April 23rd and then cancel the 23rd on the 24th and book the 1st etc etc until my reservation is November 30th-December 6th? How does this work with using both borrowed and banked points? I know that once I borrow the points they must be used in that use the 12/1/14 use year. Does that mean that I can't walk the reservation since most of my reservation is in my 12/1/15 use year?

Should I just chance it that AKL will be available on 4/30 ? for any help!

I don't think you can walk the reservation unless you want to forfeit points.

First, you wouldn't be able to walk until after Thanksgiving, because those days are likely booked.

Second, once you borrow the 2015 DEC UY points, you can't bank them. They expire 11/30/15.

Third, you're in a bad position because you can't book across UY, you'd have to call.

I would book 11/30 at 8am, then call at 9 to see if you can book 12/1 and on. Online will not let you book 11/30 to 12/3. You may end up having to wait till the next day to book Dec.

I hope early Dec isn't your normal vacation time. If it is, DEC UY will be a pain on years when 12/1 isn't till mid week.

Okay, so I should wait until 4/30 and book 11/30 online and then call at 9am and book. Crap I am going to have to take the whole morning off work!

Just FYI, but walking only really works at the 11 month window - not the 7 month window. Say you wanted to book AKV starting 11/30 and tried to walk the reservation starting 11/23. There is nothing stopping an AKV owner from coming in and booking the week you want before you can walk it - they are still in their home resort booking priority period. They can book at 7 months plus a week, where you are only able to book at exactly 7 months out.
