walkie talkies

Ok, I know this has probably been asked loads of times before....sorry!, but I need to know exactly what type of walkie talkies to buy when we get to the US.

I've been looking at the Wal*Mart Website and I've seen a few.

I think I need 22 channels and 38 sub-channels, right?

There are some Cobra ones - a twin pack which I like the look of, water resistant FRS/ GMRS - what does that mean??? They are $70 the pair

There is also Motorola single radios - Talkabout T5800 same as the cobra ones. They are $37 each and have radius of 5 miles

They are both water resistant, but the Cobra ones are rechargable.

What do you think would be best?

Well, I agree with the number of channels/codes....and I would say to go for the rechargeables....we saved loads of money by bying those ones - a couple of days we'd forgottten to recharge so had to buy batteries - expensive mistake!
