Hi Everyone!
Wow, this taper time is so busy for me -- it's actually working out to be a good thing I'm doing shorter walks. My dad and his wife (my mom passed in 2002) are visiting through the 17th, so they can watch ds9 while we do the Half. Dad was here starting Dec. 18th, and dsm arrived yesterday. Anyway, just getting through our regular activities and trying to be "sociable" is exhausting.
We have a Celtics game tomorrow night, ds has basketball Saturday, and since our pastor called on New Year's Day

I guess we'd better get our lazy selves to church Sunday morning. We are both working until we leave next Thursday, so there's that pesky little detail, too.
I won't start packing until ?. I haven't really given alot of things much thought, which means I guess I'd better start. Not to be a pain, but for those of you who have done a Half before, what do you make sure you pack? I know it's silly, but I feel like I'm going to miss something and really wish I had it. I have BodyGlide and my Wish shirt and hat.
This event is starting to take on that surreal feel I had when I gave birth. I thought I was prepared, I knew what was going to happen, but once it started I felt pretty clueless and discombobulated. And when it was over, I was happy but still couldn't figure out exactly how everything worked, I just felt dazed and confused. And the following three months were a sleepless blur...
Any and all advice for newbies is very gratefully accepted!
Kim -- It sounds like you have your mileage well in hand and you are all set. I know what you mean about the hardware, I want that
Nancy -- I wish the new gym folk would do half as much and last twice as long. They hit everything like they're going to lose 30 lbs. in a week, and then when they don't they give up. (Been there, done that) Slow and steady wins the race!
Dave -- Well, that's just great, Dave! Now you've got me wanting to do another event...After a Half, ToT should be a breeze, right?!
Denise -- I am going to follow your lead and try to figure out when I could get swept, and how I'm going to tackle the course. We can do this!
I guess we might have to huddle together for warmth -- will that mean "Snuggle Panda"?!
Doing 40 minutes today, on the TM to avoid frostbite!
Maria
