Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

OK--The mighty princesses have made clear what my wife has been telling me for a while. You are all giving me more reason to take this healthy life-style thing seriously (I'll join you in the "2008 is the Last Year I'll Need a Resolution" thread Maria). Just to make sure (and confirm that my ego has been deflated and stomped on), are you all sure none of you would go "sprinting" after James Gandolfini, Dom Deluise, John Goodman, Drew Carey or Luciano Pavarotti (OK he's dead) if they were wearing red bicycle shorts? Instead, you are "motivated" by swarthy, scrawny, little guys?

Okay, to be honest Bill, I would pursue John Goodman, Hoss Cartwright aka Dan Blocker(too bad he's dead), Jame Garner, John Wayne (dang he's dead too!), and Tom Selleck! I like 'em tall and substantial!

Good Afternoon!

Working up some enthusiasm for my 60 min TM walk later...actually, it's not too hard. I have no desire to walk in our current snow as it falls...and it will feel good to move again. :cool1:

Connie -- I think whatever gets you movin' to the finish line is good!;)

Bill -- Can we all agree on "no dead guys in bike shorts"?:rotfl:

Dave -- I agree with Kim, you are definitely sweet, but that's as far as it goes! You can claim innocence only with your tongue firmly in cheek...:wizard:

Robert -- and I thought we had too much snow! You are making me feel good about the small drifts. :goodvibes

Jeanne -- I'm sorry we going to miss hearing how those gingerbread people went over. They sound pretty racy!:woohoo:

Kim -- One of my treasured Christmas memories was the year I was super-helpful to my mom before Christmas, and she surprised me with Leif Garrett's first album early. Have you seen him lately? How the mighty have fallen...:rolleyes1

Everyone have an awesome evening!

I can only agree that I will do my best not to show up at the 2009 marathon weekend dead and in red bike shorts.

I see tapper maddness has set in. Or is it the snow that is making you mad?

I missed all of you today. WORK WORK WORK and I went to the Dr's for my physical so I couldn't sneak any DIS time.

I think I'm in the minority when it comes to heat. I can't stand it. I'm not thrilled with the snow but if it could be 50 the day of the marathon, I'd really appreciate that. OK, I'll go for 60 but not more than that.

Some how I will manage to do 8 miles during my vacation week next week so that I can THEN start to tapper.

Take care all.

Bill you can show up as a ghost for the next ToT and in bike shorts it's appropriate there! :snooty: But you have to promise to bring John Wayne along with you! :scared1: If you can't bring John Wayne, just come alive! :earboy2:

No Denise. The sad part is that this is just "normal" me. I figure if/when I actually do train for a distance event, there's a 50-50 chance taper madness will just make me like all those other people some consider to be normal.

But you have to promise to bring John Wayne along with you! :scared1:

You know, I have always liked John Wayne movies, but even as a kid, I always thought they got him the wrong size horse in those westerns. His horses always seemed too small for him.

Yes, Maria I have seen him recently ....he did not age well at all....but then to be perfectly honest, I don't look like I did 25 years ago either:lmao:

Oh yuck we aren't talking about the red bike shorts again are we???:scared1:

Got a 18K planned for the weekend and this will be a big mental hurdle. SInce DH and I have hardly trained at all this will give us a good idea how much we have lost in our training. We are going to take it slow but get it done.

Hope you all have a awesome day today.....oh in case I didn't mention it......today is my last day of work for 2007 YIPEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Kim

Yes, Kim the red bike shorts come up when you gals tak about men other than the swarthy Dave. Your choice.:confused3

Last work day of 07? Must be nice. If things don't go well, it might be the same for my big client in a few hrs. 08 as well:sad2: Doesn't feel like Xmas except for the white stuff. Just saw on the news that it is -2(F) i:scared1: n Truckee(about 15 miles from here)

I feel like taper madness has already taken over, but I'm not tapering yet. I certainly wish I was, because I am not looking forward to tomorrow's 20 miles.
First my son said he would walk with me....now he say's she's going to run with his sister. What a twerp! I think I'll take back one of his Christmas gifts.
I have been very punchy lately.....I think it must be fear of the big walk. I keep wanting to post completely inappropriate comments and have to censor myself.....I'm supposed to be an adult, right? Last night I spoke to my daughter's BF on speaker phone. Later on, he tells my daughter, "Your mom is an interesting woman, but if we ever have kids, I'm not sure I want her around them!" Geez, I haven't even met the guy and I'm being censored. Think I'll make him a gingerbread man with a teeny, tiny......OK, that's enough! Peace

Wow, and you pretty princesses call me nutty.

All this talk about tiny things and swarthy men, you are gonna give your Party Panda a complex.

Jeanne some men are not strong enough to accept a woman who is self confident enough to say what's on her mind. He is probably one of those swarthy fellows.

Robert, Bill, guys wanna just go have a pint of good beer and watch women with big aaahhh...thangs mud wrestle? Since we are so sub standard anyway we might as well go be men. Then we can go shoot animals and scratch where it itches. Heck we can even take turns leaving the seat up. "Flippin A Tweety", we the man!

Losing it Panda:hippie:

I'm an interesting woman too. I think it comes with age or Life experience. He'll have to deal with it.

ha,ha....i'm just wondering if the main thread (weekly running thread) is as depraved as we are. I have not been over there in ages since most of my "buds" are right here.

Dave: scratching and shooting are fine in my book, but leave the seat up and you'll be quickly off my "A" list.....:rotfl:

Jeanne, you know your resident Party Panda, I can't resist sneaking over and peeing in their pool. Of course Vic and Mike do a pretty good job. You might wanna go over and see Judy's latest foot in mouth. Good for a roll.

Darlin for you I'd leave it down and have a heated leather seat installed, that magic wand thing scares me.

Wow, I can't leave you guys alone for a morning, can I?!

I think it is great to be an interesting woman. Aren't we all better once we are ready to find our voices? Sometimes they seem to be a bit raunchy, but that's much more fun than sweet and innocent!;)

Kim -- It's my last work day for 2007, too! And I'm only here until 11:30 because ds has noon dismissal! :woohoo: I'm going to go out on a limb and say you haven't had Leif's drug and arrest issues, so I bet you've aged much better than he has!:goodvibes

Jeanne -- I never go to the weekly thread, either. I'm perfectly happy hangin' out here with you guys. It's racy enough here for me!:thumbsup2

Denise -- I'm not even an old woman, and I wear purple! Interesting women walkers unite!:cheer2:

Dave, Robert, Bill -- Now, don't get a complex, guys. You call us princesses so often, we are starting to think we are royalty and can command whomever we want to attend us! This is our reality...:laundy:

I'm off to another Celtics game tonight. Then I'll jump up early and get in those 10 miles on the TM. It's a new distance for me, and I'm ready!

Maria:santa:

Oh my gosh I have missed so much fun the past couple of days. I have been busy dealing with work, holiday stuff and to top it off a sick dog that needed surgery. Dog is now home and my wallet is much thinner.

Jeanne-- My gosh what did you say to the new BF. If he thinks that about you, you had better not have him meet me. I have to tell you that Brian is going to the bar tonight wearing one of my Christmas sweaters. All of his friends are dressing up with crazy sweaters. Some how I don't think that is a way to attract women.

I think all of us wonderful princesses are intersting and strong women. Gosh it that what makes us special.

Glad that some people are off until 2008. Being in the medical profession that won't happen for me.

I managed to do 3 miles last night and of course the big 20 miler is Sat. All week the weather was to be in the 40's with rain later in the day. Of course now it is to be rainy all weekend. I doubt I will be doing the LW outside.
I just so want it to be over.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Nancy
