Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

Kim! Lots and Lots of Pixie Dust for your BIL! How awful for him and scary for you and your family!

Escape! and everybody! Thanks for all the PD for DH, Jon. He is working hard to rehab, but is still feeling the pain. Oddly enough, he feels the lower back pain worst after a hot shower. Hopefully, this will pass soon.

Sassy I am so sorry to hear about the fracture. That is sad. At least you will still be able to enjoy WDW even without the racing! Lots of PD for you and a speedy recovery!

Dave! I am hoping that Erica feels better soon! -- And I am SO looking forward to your taper madness! :lmao: At least I will be entertained during the run up to the Goofy even though I can't be there, myself!

Everyone, practice safe training. Be well, my friends.

Connie Darlin, I am always well behaved. Taper maddness will have no effect on me what so ever.

See we guys only do this marathon thing so we can check out all the pretty princesses in their tight exercise stuff and short shorts. MMMMMMM life is good. See we are not actually doing the marathon just keeping up with the view.

So we are not affected by the taper maddness like the ladies are. We are just overcome with antisipation. We would really rather do our race with a ricshaw and beer. Beats monday night football everytime.

Glad your hubby is doing better. If he gets feeling to bad slip on the tight exercise stuff and that will take his mind off of his back.

I'm off to wake my pretty princess now so we can do our last LSD before the trip to "The House of Mouse".

Panda on LSD:hippie:

Denise--- Love the Christmas card how orginal. Your home looks so nice and cozy with the snow all around it.

Heather---Sorry about your injury and having to miss the half. pixiedust: to you.

Kim--- I hope you BIL continues to recover. pixiedust: to him and your family.

Dave---Good luck to you and Erica with your last LSD. I am so looking forward to having my last one completed.

With everything going on it is getting harder and harder to get in my walks. Last week I was only able to do a 3 miler and my 8.5 LW. I hope to get in 3-4 miles tonight and of course I have to get in that 20 miler this weekend.
The weather has not been very cooperative since I have been back from WDW so everything is done on the TM. I so hope that I can do the LW outside this weekend, but if not I have a good book lined up to entertain myself on the TM if I have to spend 5 hrs there on Sat.

We'll I went running yesterday morning it was freezing, but I got it done..won't be able to go out today because I have to get going to work. But its time to kick it into gear. Hope all is well and stay warm! I will be bitting my nails now...its getting so close to race weekend. I know I can easily do 8miles I just don't know about the rest. :)

Kim: so sorry to hear about your BIL's accident. Sending pixie dust for a speedy and complete recovery.

Heather: sorry to hear you won't be able to join us. Glad you're still planning on being there though. You can always pick up your packet with all the goodies and do a few miles just to say you participated.

Denise: LOVE the card!

I was a slacker today. I was supposed to go to spin class and then do my fast 2 mile walk, but my daughter came home late last night and we stayed up even later talking. If the temps warm up, I may do the walk outside, but chances are I won't get the opportunity. Last week we broke a record with 82 degrees and last night we dropped into the 20's. The weather here is totally crazy. It's 40-something right now, which is way too cold for this Southern belle. I can really sympathize with you guys that have to cope with snow, ice and really frigid temps.

OK Dave, so that's the trick.....I need to just find a Runner McDreamy and keep up with the view? It would probably be alot easier if he was also running backwards....there's only so hot the back view of a male hottie can be!

I am so excited, I found a indoor track only about a 30 min drive from my home!!!! I now have 3 weeks of training to get in.....so excited.

Thank you all for the PD, DBIL is doing great, but will have alot more surgeries and will be off work for awhile. Looks like he will also be in the hospital over Xmas which really stinks.

Connie: Glad to hear physio is gonig well for DH.

Sass: Sorry to hear about your stress fracture. Take care!!!!

Nancy: Hope you get a chance to get outside this weekend. I find my TM workouts take so much longer then just getting outside....I don't get it????

Robert, Bill where are ya???????:confused3

Not much else to report. I can't wait to get to the track tonight......that sounds nuts doesn't it??? I guess I won't go through taper madness since I haven't done any big distances???

Hope you are all having a great day!!!!

Kim

Kim: PD pixiedust: for your BIL

Dave: Watch out as your princess might kick your butt!

I have been hiding out here gaining weight. Nothing positive to report about my shins. 7 weeks since injury and starting 7th week of PT. I am seeing ortho Dr again tomorrow and get xrays. Will see where goes from here. PT doesn't think I should do either race:confused3 . I may be like Heather in that I start the races and just do a few miles? Might try to finish 1/2 and just start the full? I may heck with everything and just try to do both...

Will be getting a wheelchair to help with limiting standing and moving around before and after races.

Everyone watch out for what ever that panda is going by!

Peeking Panda--Based on my extensive race history, I have to say that this is one of the plusses. Unfortunately, it doesn't work so well at a night-time event (especially when there isn't a lot of supplemental lighting and all the women are MUCH faster than me) like ToT.

Oh dear, you could keep up with ME, I;m so worried about being swept. I know I'll do good for at least 6 miles it's the last 7.1 that worry me. We could cross the finish line together.

I knew I liked you Jeanne! :rotfl:

This past January when we were going up the Contemporary hill I came upon a group of....."my age" ladies who were really struggling. So I got up beside them and said "Hey I hear George Clooney is up ahead and he's wearing compression shorts!" They all laughed and started whooping and hollaring! It was a pip!

And I guess if George doesn't do it for you, can can insert the fab-u-lous hunk of your choice and the end result is the same! :thumbsup2

:rolleyes1

Judy--If you told them he was wearing red compression shorts and that he was running backwards, you might have gotten them close to a course record, and a few wide walking groups may have even been run over in the process.;)

I tried watching a handsome young hottie, but my vision just isn't what it used to be and he was out of my sight in no time! :lmao: Besides, I start picturing myself as the beautiful Queen and/or the delightful racewalking Princess...who is being pursued by the evil sweepers who want to imprison me and make me give up all my medals and I don't have time to concentrate on Runner Mcdreamy or even Prince Jogging!

But Darlin you are a pretty walking princesses and your pace is plenty fast to stay ahead of the sweepers.

Besides if we have to we can throw some of those 'Team In Training' honnies to the evil sweep ogres.

Party Panda:hippie:

Judy, Judy.....I wish you were doing the full with us. We NEED all those great incentives.
Please God, don't make the sweepers "hot" ........I don't want them to be an attractive alternative when I'm at 18 miles and hurting.

Just a note to all to be careful when at WDW(or any where else) bad guys come to WDW too:(

All our pretty princesses need to have someone to walk with if they are out after dark. Anyone without escort call Erica and I and we will find you and see you home safe.

Thanks for the warning Robert.

Hi Everyone!

My super-scary busy time at work is over, and now I can get back to the Dis!

Whew! I missed alot while I was earning my share of the mortgage...Anyway, I have been keeping up with my long walks. I did six miles Saturday, and I'm scheduled for 10 this weekend. This is so weird, but six seemed harder than eight -- I think it's because we were watching "Superman II", and it was so bad I just wanted to leave the room. DS9 enjoyed it, though...

We have so much snow and even more ice, and I couldn't walk outside if I wanted to. I did walk to a mall from work yesterday (about 30 minutes each way), and it was a maze of slippery sidewalks. No more outside time for me -- and we're getting more snow tonight!

Robert -- It's good to get a reminder to be careful wherever you are. I think we have a tendency to think that if we're no longer a sweet young thing (ah, I remember the days...) no one will bother us. We forget that folks who will are not necessarily rational...:sad2:

Dave -- You and Erica have been tearing up those hills! RevvedUpPanda!:dance3:

Judy, Connie, Jeanne -- Are you telling me that McDreamy, McSteamy, McHottie, Colin Ferguson and Michael Shanks are not going to be waiting at the finish line just for me?! But that is what I've been telling myself:rotfl: How else am I going to stay ahead of the sweepers? Maybe I'll need a few Patriots to get me going -- Bill could you send down Tom Brady and Assante Samuel?:woohoo: (ducks head -- oh, yea, dh will be there, 'cause he'll surely finish before I do. I guess the love of my life will have to be incentive enough:cloud9: )

Denise -- I am just as worried as you are -- I've never done a Half before. Maybe I'll think about Bob (you know, Biggest Loser Bob the trainer), or better yet Gillian. I'd be afraid not to finish if she's waiting! :upsidedow

Kim -- I will definitely send prayers your way. I hope for the best possible outcome for your BIL. :grouphug:

Ok, gotta get the day going -- Everyone have a great one!

Maria:santa:
