Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

Yea it probably has lead in it's butt like me this morning. Getting out of a warm bed on a cold gray morning, like this to go walk, is hard.

I have 4 miles on tap but I may just do a couple and then play in the pool. I have a sore spot on my left foot under the ankle bone. I bought new work shoes and they may be causing the problem.

I'm pretty sure I just got in trouble on the weekly thread so I'll just come in here and hide.

Have an awesome morning y'all.

Hiding Panda:hippie:

I am hoping for a REAL walk outside today, but if not using the TM
Even the low milage on that made my shins hurt last night...Here comes the 'Stick' today!

No Kidding...YOU got in trouble...I best go check this out! :confused3

Good morning team!!!!!!

Dave what did you say over there??? I haven't gone over to read the threads this week yet.

nancy: Enjoy your trip to Disney.... I am jealous of you all.

Sorry have to cut this short, phones won't stop ringing today so I have to work

I think Judy may put a hit out on me.

I did a nice brisk 4 mile walk on the hills this morning. It was actually pretty nice out but looked yucky. 51 degrees and gray sky. But it was very pleasent. Below my ankle didn't hurt at all while I was walking, but I did nearly get run over twice. Maybe Judy already has the hit contracted.

I wasn't the least bit sore from the 10 miles yesterday so I'm making progress on the Goofyness.

Have an awesome day y'all.

Feeling Wickedly Good Panda:hippie:

Well it’s snowing here in New Hampshire. I had hoped that the track would be clear till after the Marathon but I’m starting to doubt that and I’m not about to shovel City property so I can work out! I have a feeling I’ll get a workout in on Thanksgiving day and that will be it until Saturday in WDW.

I’m not working out today, have a massage tonight (YAHOO) and tomorrow I have to make Pork Pies for thanksgiving – it’s a Canadian thing (meat pie) I’m french but not from Canada, my grandparents were. We love Pork Pie at the Holidays. YUM.

Have a good day working out, stay out of trouble.

Snow, Yuck!

Is that like a chicken pot pie but with pork?

Sounds like you need to be friends with the treadmill if you must live in the frozen tundra of New England.

Ok lets try this again.

Dave glad to hear your walk was pain free. But yikesss. watch out for those cars

Margie: Congrats on the grandson, I had a great nephew born Sunday night, actually I had the weight a little wrong he is 5lbs, 15oz. So tiny...went to see him last night he is just beautiful. If my SIL emails me photos I will post 1. He was a little early also.

Denise: Snow!!!!!! Uggghhhh. It is a beautiful sunny day here in Southern Ontario, 11C sorry don't know the conversion.....Robert...help.

nancy: Good idea take some time and rest that knee...just under 8 weeks till marathon. DS actually likes hanging with us....thinks we are cool....even his friends like us...:upsidedow we must be doing something right. Now DD who is 15 going on 27 spends as little time with us as possible unless it involves us driving her and her friends somewhere or money....

4K I believe on tap for tonight, oh also very excited, saved $30 on my car rental....checked prices this morning.....yipppeeeeeeee

Ok back to work for a bit:rolleyes1

I am so behind...I hope I can come back. Forgive me if I mix up my threads...:upsidedow

Hi Everyone!

After I got back from my conference, things have been nuts at work, and I haven't had time to Dis. That's just wrong, isn't it?! LOL :rotfl2:

Anyway, I'm still following the MfM program. I did six miles for my lw last week, and I'm scheduled for 7 on Saturday.

I need to read and catch-up, so forgive me. :flower3:

Dave -- The 150s Club is a thread in WISH, started by and for people who are trying to get to the 150s weight-wise. Although I'm actually not, I'm starting to feel like a charter member. Someday, my 150s will come!:goodvibes

Kim -- We just added a night to our reservation, so we arrive the 10th and leave the 15th. I need to check into transportation. I will start to get very excited as we get into December!:cheer2:

Denise -- How do you feel about the TM? It is my best buddy. I watched it snow all day, but nothing stuck. :santa:

Margie -- Welcome! Sending lots of smiles your way!:thumbsup2

Nancy -- This early darkness is beating me down. I just want to go to bed, but I have to work out -- I guess I'd better get used to it!:cool2:

I have a very good treadmill and an elliptical but I love the track, the surface is so much more forgiving and I can speed up when I want and slow down, on the TM I set a pace and go for it. Kind of Boring. I don’t do the fancy settings it has, suppose I should but I don’t enjoy it.

At least for the next week I can do my powerwalks in Disney – What a TREAT!

Hey Maria is back:yay:

We thought you had become lost in the wilderness.:flower3:

We missed you pretty princess.princess:

Happy Panda:hippie:

hehehe Dave your funny! Pork pies are ground pork and mash potatoes with seasonings and then you put the filling in the pie shell and bake...yum Mom is to save me some, because I have to work all day. :( but that is my last day and then I am on Vacation. yeah

I did 4 miles on TM yesterday and then pump class. Knee was a little sore after doing all that but feel ok today. I am hoping to do my 16 mile LW on Thanksgiving. It is suppose to be warm here so maybe I can do it outside if it isn't raining.

Welcome back Maria.

I remember when LeCellier used to be a cafeteria style restaurant and they always served meat pies and they were very good. I don't think I have had them since then.

Time to get busy at work.

Nancy

Good morning team.

Finally got out and did 4K last night, jeezzz it has been awhile. Got 5 for tonight but it might have to be on the TM...:headache: we are suppose to get some ugly weather over the next few days, glad I am taking DS's car in for his snow tires tomorrow morning.

For all those getting a early Thanksgiving start.... Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your long weekend.

Kim

HAPPY TURKEY DAY DEAR FRIENDS

This morning started with a pouring rain but 60 degrees. I went out as soon as it stopped and did a brisk 2.25 miles.

There is a walk race in the morning and I'm still undecided on it. The temp is supposed to drop and tomorrow is forcasted to be 26 degrees at race time. I'm not sure I want to get out and do a race in 26 degrees. That warm bed sounds like a better idea right now.

The other side is that would be my only chance for a workout tomorrow and they give out nice key chains with a heavy medalian with racewalkers embossed on it for the first three male and first three female finishers.

Those meat pies sound very good.

Have a safe and fun weekend everyone. None of you are replaceable so come back safe.

Gobble Gobble Panda:hippie:

You guys are funny, nothing like meat pie after a brisk walk! A little lead sinker in your belly. My SIL puts ketchup on hers and I think that’s gross, some people serve it with white sauce, I like mine plain. For this year I will make 1 pie and freeze it for Christmas eve. I’ll make enough filling for 2 and then take the rest and put them in mini philo cups so it’s like a little taste of pie but no cutting or serving involved, grab and go.

We will have a balmy 60 degrees tomorrow so it would be PERFECT to do our LW.

Have a great weekend all – I’ll check in before I leave.

Good Morning WISH Walking Wonders:

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately (I am sure you all really miss me ;) ), but I have had a lot of life/work going on and also have been trying to get my back straightened out. I have been unable to do much actual walking since problems flared up at the ToT. I have been working with my physical therapist, however, and broke down to utilize a personal trainer from the Y who is a runner/triathalete. So, we have developed a plan that concentrates on aerobic conditioning and strength (without walking) for the next few weeks in an effort to get the back straightened out while increasing aerobic conditioning. From there, if things are a go, we will try to ramp up the walking. Long story short, I've got a lot of work to do, but have not thrown in the towel on the half yet. As a jock in my earlier life (and attorney now), I think my self esteem and ego will survive if I can make it to the start with a possibility of finishing and I end up not finishing. As long as I give it my best effort, I realize somedays I am not going to be the "winner." Besides, what fun are goals if they easily achieved. Enough about me.

Kim Good to "see" you back posting and sorry about the B's beating the Make-Beliefs again.

Maria Welcome back to the asylum (nothing personal BigPanda).

Panda/Windwalker/Hiding/Scurrying/Troublemaking;) Dave Thanks for keeping us all going and I am happy to see Erica is giving you a break this week. Let me know about the walking shoe thing. I still am willing to write to Pearl Izuma in support of the cause. Hey, we aren't joggers either. I am sure they will see it fits perfectly with their current advertising campaign.

Robert Get well. Hopefully we won't have to spend more time at the R&C than originally planned.

Everyone Great job on keeping your training going.

If I don't post again today- Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll (sorry, must be the closet redneck in me coming out again.)

**BILL**I’m sorry to hear about your back. I know a bit about what your going through – although my pain is in my neck, dealing with it on a regular basis does make me too exhausted to work out at times even though the pain is in the upper area of my back I can still walk with no problem. I had a massage last night and feel that I could run the ½ today. I will schedule a massage just before we leave in January. You might want to try that out – check with the trainer they may have one you could use. Actually my massage therapist is a personal trainer too and she does triathlons, on top of that she’s ½ my age and as cute as a button. She’s got a lot of strength to work out those knots in my arms, back and neck. What a blessing.

Somebody 'splain--what's a meat pie?

Meat Pie

Ground pork – scrambled/cooked like you would if you were making it for spaghetti sauce. Chop 1 Med onion and cook. Mashed potatoes to your liking – to make it stick together. Mix all together with Bells Seasoning/Poultry Seasoning to your taste. Some people add allspice and or clove, salt pepper to your liking. Cool a bit. I buy the pre-made Pillsbury Pie crust. Line 9 in glass pie pan with crust, add filling, dollop with about 4 T of butter, add 2nd crust on top crimp together. Cook on bottom shelf of oven at 400 for about 45 min or till crust is cooked on the bottom – that’s why we use glass pie plates.

Cool for about 15 min, cut and serve.

Boy and here I thought meat pies where a British thing. My mom use to love them but no one else in the house would touch them.:confused3

Bill of course we missed ya!!! sorry to hear you are still having back problems, hang in here. I WILL see you at the finish line on Jan 12th.

Ya the Leafs suck but we all know that. But hey you got a pretty good goalie out of us. I couldn't believe when they traded Rask, I thought in he was awesome in the Jr's a few years back, left us with the mess we got now and Pogge back with the Marlies.....wanna trade back....we will even throw in MCCabe and Sundin:lmao:

Kim

Hey I have a Panda for an avatar:cool1:

Thank you Sara, Margie's dear Daughter, you did super. I'm styling and profiling now.

I still don't know about the race in the morning. It's currently 60 degrees and pouring rain, and it's 10 pm. In 10 hours it's forcasted to be 26 degrees and windy. I'm beginning to dought that forcast.

The next person to post on here will take this thread to a 1000 responses.

Have a great evening y'all. "Remember you spend one third of your life sleeping, so sleep with somebody good".
