Walker Mobility vs. Buena Vista Scooters?

I currently have an ECV reserved with Walker but now I am doubting my choice only because the return time I could get on my last full day is not ideal, between 7:30-8:30 PM. No times were available on the morning of my departure. I am going to miss the evening shows in whatever park I go to that last evening which may be big deal to me because I only have 3 park days for this trip. I am now considering a Disney approved company, so that I can just drop off scooter at the resort guest services, but wonder if the cost is going to be substantially more and do they have the good reputation Walker does.

I used Apple in December. It was a nightmare. The wheelchair wasn't there when I arrived, as had been arranged and paid for. When I called, they said they would be there at 9:30 pm. Again, didn't show. Then I called and was told that they "usually drop off in the middle of the night." Obviously a lie, as my chair arrived the next morning. They are Disney approved.

For the next trip, I scheduled Walker. Night and day difference. Yes ...... I had to be there for the hand-off. That being said, it was seamless and at least I HAD the chair. I would recommend Walker and keep trying to get a window closer to what works for you.

Another question, will the Disney bus drivers park it for you on the bus if you request it? I am an ECV novice.

Can you practice using an ECV at your local grocery store or big box store like target or wal mart? It might make you more comfortable using it at WDW.

I've rented from Buena Vista Scooters for my last two trips (including this past week) and had a great experience both times. No problems with the scooter and I picked it up and dropped off at bell services. I was able to return it by 9:30am my departure day which made it great. Both companies seem to get very good reviews here (Walker and BVS). I don't know what the price difference is - call them and compare perhaps? I wouldn't have wanted a 9:30pm drop off as that would have affected my plans too much.

Several times the bus driver offered to help park if I needed it and one guy actually sort of insisted that I just pull up and he lifted it into place...lol! Obviously that wouldn't work had I not been able to move out of it but it was sort of funny. I had no problems parking it and you'll be fine - don't worry about that! :)

I had Walker last trip and will have them this trip. But in your case, you really should go with a Disney approved vendor for the convenience.

I haven't canceled Walker yet... Since they announced the RoL will not be starting on April 22nd I know that AK hours won't be extended in early May either for the show. I have AK planned for my last afternoon/evening so returning the scooter to Walker between 7:30-8:30 is now not going to be a problem since it will be closing at 6pm.

I have not used BVS, but had excellent results with Walker.

We've used Walker severaltimes and they have always been good.
