Walked into Le Cellier during Free Dining

That is great news!! My daughter and SIL got a walk in reservation during their Feb trip this year. She came home and told us where she ate and we told her how lucky she was to get in. She didn't have a clue--(she didn't get the Disney gene).

my best friend just got back and said they also got in on a walk up for dinner there! They also ate at ohana (for dinner) and 1900 park fare (dinner) all with no ADR ....it was a last minute trip so they had no time to plan.The last time i went to orlando was in may for a few days and I got in at ohana for dinner without a ADR also with no wait at all.

We were in WDW Aug/Sept August 30-Sept 9 and never do the dining plan but a surprise visit of our daughter and SIL, we called Yachtsman Steakhouse for a dinner one night. They asked what time we liked and we said , 8:30 pm and they said, come on over. When we arrived, the restaruant was only half filled and never got any fuller, we stayed for at least 2 hours and lolled over drinks.

Good for you...that's why it never hurts to ask as it could always happen (although when we were there on September 5 for dinner at 5:00 they turned away three couples that we saw come for a walk up so it just depends on the day).

So sorry I missed you...we were there the same day & time. I am still dreaming of my oh so good NY Strip, cream cheese mashed, and pretzel bread with cheese soup dip!Everything was absolutely PERFECT that night.

... We were told to come back around 4 or 4:15 to see if they were going to accept walk-ins that night. At 4:45 we were shown to our table!

Just like a vacation should be and the way it use to be everyday at Disney.

It does sounds like the staff is seeing a lot of no shows and had a good idea they would have openings based upon a pattern observed during the past few days.
