Had a last minute thought. When my Dad walks me up the aisle what side does he stand on? Then does he lift my veil over my head, or does the groom? Do I give my flowers away straight away? Thanks :worship:

I think the bride stands on the left and the father stands on the right. I also think your dad would be the one to lift your veil...but not sure on that one. I think you then hand-off your bouquet...

I was on the left and my dad was on the right walking up the aisle. I think I held my bouquet for a couple of minutes during the opening prayer etc. then the minister signaled me to hand it off to my MoH when it was time for us to "turn and join hands." HTH!

your dad stands on your right, but he sits on the left side with your family.

If you wear the veil over your face, right before your dad sits down, he can lift it and give you a kiss on the cheek. Traditionally he would put it down again and then the groom would lift it later on. But if you didn't want it over your face during the ceremony you could just not put it back down.

Then when you're standing up there you just turn and hand your MOH the bouquet. But if you forget, I'm sure the officiant will signal you to do it, just like a pp said.

Hope that helps!

My dad stood on my left side, then once we got up to the last row of chairs, my DH came up to my right and we three stood there and my father sat down and my DH & I walked the rest of the way to the alter.
