Has anyone had experience showing up at Port Canaveral without a stateroom booking and scoring a great last minute deal on DCL?

I don't even think they won't even let you in the terminal unless you have a reservation.

Another thread was talking about this. I think the conclusion there was you could possibly call and book fairly last minute, maybe that morning. You are not allowed in the terminal without a reservation.

I believe that there are Coast Guard/DOT rules which requires DCL to have their manifest turned in for screening 3 days before sailing...

You have to call the 800# to book the cruise before you go to the terminal.

had this same conversation with my disney cruise specialist.true you have to call them and if you have all your documents and can get in the area they will try to make it work.no real last min. deal though.you pay the prevailing rate.

It is my understanding you used to be able to do this with cruises in general (I'm not sure about Disney specifically) but with increased Port security this is no longer an option.

I asked our check in CM at the port when we sailed in March about how late people could book cruises. He said morning of the cruise, though I didn't know if you can book at the port. I would love to know the answer because we are just a couple of hours from Port Canaveral and could try it. We go to Universal and Disney all the time so we could always head there if it didn't work out.

You definitely cannot book at the port because you can't get into the terminal. To get through security, you have to have a reservation.

Cruise lines are required to provide passenger manifests to port authorities a certain period of time prior to sailing. In order to ensure that they have a complete and accurate manifest with all information (names, addresses, passport info, etc.) and don't miss anything at the last minute, cruise lines want 72 hours prior to a sailing to produce that. So they shut down their systems online for booking at 3 days out. That doesn't necessarily mean that you can't get a reservation within the last three days, but that's why you have to call. If they allow it, they will add someone manually. But walk-ups: No. And morning of - maybe but don't bank on it. Two-three days before - more likely.
