Hi all...this is my maiden post on this particular board, so be gentle! :rotfl:

I have an ADR for 2 coming up next month at the Coral Reef. Our dear friend wishes to join us, but I've tried online and calling Disney Dining and there seems to be no availability for 3 that night.

What are the odds of them seating all 3 of us if we all show up and are standing there with a reservation for 2 already?

Any thoughts? Alternate ideas?

Thanks!

Coral Reef actually has tables for 2 so if you show up with 3, you will have to wait for an available 4 top. This place frequently runs way behind on their seating so if they accommodate you, I'd be prepared for a wait. I hope you have good luck.

I would keep trying online everyday. People cancel reservations all the time so you never know when something might open up. Good luck.

Is there a possibility that they may flat-out say "No" to our third guest?

It's a possibility. It happened to us at WCC one night. If they are that crowded (is it free dining?) or already running behind, they could tell you what we got told at WCC--they will seat original party but not any additions to it. Coral Reef's tables are not as flexible to be put together, split apart, etc so with you needed a table size change, it's not as easy at CR as it would be at other places.

There's no way of knowing ahead of time as it's up to the restaurant staff to make the call. I'd keep trying to get it changed (have you tried making one for 4 people instead of 3--you will sit at a 4 top table anyway--or try making a reservation for 1 at very close to the same time you already have?). If you can't get one, I'd put together a plan B just in case they won't seat you or if they tell you they can seat you in 2 hours and you don't want to wait, etc.

yes...if there are no 4-tops available there will be no place for your additional guest. So they have no choice but to say no. Keep checking ADRs...stuff opens up all the time, even the day of. I would probably book an ADR someplace that definitely has room for 3 so you have someplace to eat together, then if CR comes through cancel the other ressie.
