Walk thru Cinderella's castle?

This will be our first trip to WDW. Can you walk through the castle like you can at DL to get to the back of the park, or do you have to walk around it? Just trying to figure out the quickest way to get to 7DMT. Thanks everyone!

Depends on what time you arrive at the castle.

It is generally OPEN to pass through in the early mornings.
(The passageway will close when the time to present the "Castle Shows" gets closer.)

But, those en route to 7DMT tend to cross from the Hub via the "Bridge to Fantasyland." (Seen below.)

Like was said it depends on when you get to the castle. EVERY time we tried to walk through the castle during our trip that just ended we weren't able to. They close the front doors whenever there is performance on the stage in front of the castle and during major events on Main St (i.e. parade, fireworks, etc.)

yes its accessible i know I've managed to do it every trip, usually right as the suns setting its really nice feeling getting to walk through at see the mosaic tiles with images from the cinderella story, take note of the step sisters faces as one is green for envy, and one is red anger. plus there are specks of actual gold tiles scattered in for more magic!

We walked through the castle last month it did take us four try's though. My son really wanted to go through the castle.

Last week we were there for rope drop a couple times, toward the front of the crowd. As the crowd arrived near the castle they were waving everyone around it, but by the time we got around it there were people who were walking THRU is and had a much shorter access route! As pp mentioned, it really just depends on timing. It is an experience to enjoy at some point on the trip though!

Thanks everyone! I was just trying to find the quickest way in the morning to get to 7DMT. According to Easy WDW and a couple of you, looks like the best way is to cross the bridge to Fantasyland. Originally, looking at the map and since I have never been there before, it just looked like going through the castle was the quickest.
