Walk In Walt's Disneyland Footsteps tour (includes Walt's apartment)

IThere is a really cool 360 degree view of Walt's Apartment above the Fire House on the iPad application

Thanks for the tip, I never clicked on that part of the screen before. Walt's apartment looks cool, I especially like the footrests and the huge phonograph megaphone :)

No problem. Be sure to check out the Disneyland Resort Explorer app too also for iPad.

I really may have to do this sometime. I find Walt Disney fascinating and would just be giddy to see his apartment over the fire station!

Just wondering if anyone has gotten more info on details of the lunch menu. When we took the "original" our option was sandwiches. It would be nice if they went back to something like Walt's favorite chili. I know.... don't hold my breath.
Even so I am still very excited to get to add this new and improved tour to our agenda in November.

Today was the first day for this tour, right? Has anyone read any reports? I have my reservations for next month and am excited to hear how it is.

I have my reservation for 9/23, and I will be doing a report then. I will be interested to see what anyone else says before then.

Here are more details as found on the Disney blog: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...-new-walk-in-walts-disneyland-footsteps-tour/

I called to find out what the tour price would be for a Disney Visa holder or Premium Passport and it's $87.20.

I'm seriously considering doing this tour next month because I have always wanted to see Walt's apartment. When we won a night in the Dream Suite, in all the excitement I forgot to ask for a tour of the apartment, so this is finally my opportunity to see it.

Does anyone know if while on tour you can purchase merchandise at Club 33? Any info would be appreciated.
No merchandise will be able to be purchased.

My friend has done the original tour of this twice and loved it. I am sure the new tour will be awesome. Oh and she got a discount for being an AAA member.
There is a special discount for Disney Rewards Visa and AAA card holders, Disney Vacation Club members and Disneyland Resort Annual Passport holders).

Back in 2001, I was a member of the Disneyland Creative Advisory Council -basically a year-long focus group to bounce merchandise and merch event ideas off of.

We got to spend and hour or so inside Walt's apartment. It was pretty sweet. We took a group picture, too...wish I could find those!

I'm guessing no pictures allowed?

I was able to go into Walt's apartment a few years ago (it was compensation for a tour gone awry), and they let us take pictures. I think the backstage tours can also take pictures in there, so I would think that they would let us take pictures during the WiWF tour.

When we went a few years ago they also let us take videos, but they asked us not to put them on the web.

I have this tour booked for 10/8, it was $261.60 for three people with my DAP discount. I am so excited! The CM that booked this for us on the tour line stated that all of September is booked as of yesterday, so I would book exactly @ 30 days if anyone is planning on booking this one. Seems as though it's super popular already!

I can't wait to do this tour. It was an awesome tour before they added Walt's apartment. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed it when we did it in 2006, even my boys, who were 10 and 7 at the time. My hubby and I will be sure to book exactly at 30 days out...we are going December 12th for my birthday. :-)

Is this something kids would really enjoy? My son loves learning about Walt and I think this tour sounds great. He'd be not quite 11 when we'd be able to go, do you think that would be a good age?

I don't have kids, but I love this tour. I think if he is a good listener and won't want to wander off, he will enjoy it...especially if he likes to learn about Walt!

We took our nephew when he was 10, and he really enjoyed himself. He likes Disney trivia, so he had a great time asking our tour guide questions. He really liked getting the special tour pin at the end. It is a long tour, so if this may be a problem for your son, you might want to wait. But our nephew did great!

I was already planning to do this tour but am even more keen now that you see the apartment. So you book it by phone 30 days out?

We are doing the tour on 9/24! I am already basically overwhelmed by excitement. Thanks for all the tips and info, everyone. I will be sure to let you know about our experience afterwards!

I think your soon would enjoy it, especially if he loves to learn about Walt! My kids liked it, and they were both young. They got slightly bored a couple times, but for the most part, they had fun!
