An accessible room wouldn't be considered a "regular" room would it? You could certainly make a request for an accessible room with a shower at check-in but no guarantees you'll get it.

Fair enough, but OP could make a request when checking in (or by calling member services and requesting they put a note on the reservation) for a handicap accessible room with a shower when checking in if they prefer a shower. But obviously like I said that is just a request and not guaranteed.
