Hi again! Thanks for the help so far. We are staying at OKW in 2, 2 bedroom villas in June. There are 13 of us! ANyone, my aunt needs a scooter to get around. I have requested a ground floor unit as steps would be a problem. Does the villa have a walk in shower and if there is a step it is very high? If so, I might be better of asking for an accessible room. Thanks, lynn

There's a small step-up into the shower and a glass door for that shower in one of the bathrooms in a 2 bedroom villa, plus there's the whirlpool tub ( which does have a pretty high step-in) and the tub in the other bathroom. It might be best to confirm a room with a roll in shower for your aunt. Perhaps someone has a photo of the shower so you could see if it's doable for her. Since there are so many of you and two villas are needed, the sooner you make those arrangements the better.---Kathy

:goodvibes definitely go for a handicapped room (okay accessible).

the shower has a bar across the bottom - which she might have a problem with getting over.

just make sure the shower head is pointed in the right direction so no mess on the floor. of course some people insist on moving it to make a mess.....:goodvibes

just make sure they give you a 2-bedroom - where this is only in the master and not both in the master and second bathroom.

You can also request a chair or bench for the shower if you think that would be easier for her if you don't get the accessible unit.

Just looked at the pictures of the 2 bedroom bathroom over at Tagrel.com and it seems the step up which is just visible in one picture is about the height of one of the tiles plus the bottom of the door frame so probably 4-6 inches.

The step into the shower in the master bedrooms at OKW is no more than 2 inches, so unless she needs a roll in shower for a wheelchair, it shouldn't be an issue.
