I know there is a path from OKW to DTD and it takes about 25 mins to walk but I wondered if the pathway is lit and whether it is safe to walk (on your own) later at night (10.30ish).

Yes, I know that I can take a boat or bus but I'm flying in from the cold and I'd enjoy the walk.

There are no lights. The path is open from dawn to dusk

The path will also allow you access to Treehouse Villas and Saratoga Springs, or at least it did when I used it as a jogging trail many years ago.

It's definitely is a nice walk, unless you have a flashlight or its a full moon I would take the boat to DTD at night instead (you will be walking along the rivers edge).

I'm told there are gators in that water, and snakes...that along with no lights at all, which is why the path is closed at night. I took a wrong turn and ended up on the golf cart paths rather than the trail...:scared1::scared1: during my morning walk

Gators sometimes come out of the water, I would not walk a path at night that does not have lights. Disney is smart to close the path at night. I would take the boat and walk around Downtown Disney instead. And if you still want to walk more, go over to SSR and walk around it.

Gators weren't first on my list when I posted this question :rotfl: I know nothing of Gators, are they nocturnal and therefore it is safe during the day? Are they scared of noise?

No idea, but it was more than a passing thought as I was taking that walk at 9am one fine day, and then I ended up on the golf cart course path, (wrong turn, in the future stay on the left hand side when path splits) which obviously wasn't meant for walkers and was close to woods and water. I completed the walk at a brisk pace. :cool1: took the right path back to OKW. :rotfl2:
