Aloha!
I had PSssss for Minnie and Friends but decided to change it to Goofy in part because of the weather. But I just realized I have no idea where I am going. Is it possible to walk to Goofy's from Hojo? :confused3
Thanks!

Weather? You don't have to sit outside ~ in fact we never have (we've had breakfast @ Minnie's 3 maybe 4 times). We love a late breakfast/brunch @ Minnie's, if we do Goofy's it'd be when the park opens late and we'd go before park opening ~ eg: the park opens @ 10am, we'll get a 8am PS (reservation) @ Goofy's. If I was going from HoJo's to Goofy's ~ I'd consider a taxi.

We did Goofy's for the first time this past X-mas, we stayed at Fairfield Inn (love it!!), which is almost same distance as Hojo. Let me tell you, I had no idea where we were heading. After cruising through Downtown Disney, we finally found it. Let me tell you, my DD loved Goofy's. She still talks about it and says she wants to come back there next time. My advice, though, is get ready to walk a lot, but it is worth it.

Yes, it is a looonnnnggg walk!
I would stick with Minnie's. Both places are very good.

Depends on how fast you walk and how distracted you all get by the stuff you see along the way. If you walk fast and don't stop it will take 15 minutes or so.
Slower and/or distracted walkers could take up to 30 minutes. We did this with a group of 13 including some seniors and kids and I think we did it in 20-25 minutes.

There's inside seating at Minnie & Friends, we have been lucky enough to be seated inside every time we've eaten there. There are also umbrellas over the outside tables, just so you know. :) But yes, you can walk to GK from the HoJo, we've done it before. Just walk thru the security, thru the esplanade, exit thru security and walk thru DTD, at the very end (after ESPN Zone but don't turn at ESPN, just walk straight) you will "dead end" into DLH, follow the signs to GK. It's a bit of a walk but it's not horrible.

We stayed at HoJo and did Goofy's. We made a later PS (at the EXCELLENT advice of fellow DISer's), I think it was 10 or 10:30. We went and did all the Fantasyland stuff at opening, then shuffled on over to the DLand Hotel. It is, as the others said on the opposite side of DTD. It was another 5 minutes or so walking from the DL entrance. It is, by no stretch, a "bad" walk. Very enjoyable to see that part of DLR, as we wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

HTH!

To expand on what geekypeach said, if you made your PS for later in the day you could take the monorail to DTD and walk from there to the DLH, it's a quick walk from there. The only variable there would be how long the wait in TL is for the monorail.

Goofy's is always our last morning right before we leave town. We drive to the hotel and valet park. They validate valet parking fro 5 hours if you are eating at Goofy's

We did GK brunch on our "down" day when we wouldn't be in the parks. Drove from HOJO and parked in the lot reserved for DTD. (You get 2 hours of free parking which is increased to 5 hours with validation at the restaurant.) The lot is right behind ESPN zone...just walk into DTD and take a right turn into the DLH. After brunch we spent the remainder of our 5 hours in DTD. The kids got to do a lot of pin trading with CMs, watched the bird show in front of Rain Forest Cafe, and shopped like crazy. It was actually a very nice break from the parks, but still felt magical.

Take a cab or drive. It's almost as far from DLH to DL as it is from Hojo to DL, so it's a looooonnngggg walk from Hojos to DLH/Goofy's Kitchen.

Thanks for your replies, everyone!
It seems like a walk we can do (like a leisurely walk from the HNL zoo throught Waikiki), but if it is raining we will probably drive.
Do we park at the hotel or DTD for validated parking?
If I bought e-tickets for my family, will we be able to use the DTD monorail station to go to Tomorrowland or do we need to go through the main gate?
(We are going to have 2 MILs, DD4 and DS<1 so speed is not really any kind of an issue. We aren't trying to do everything... just spend some magic time together.)
I am over stressing about the weather... i checked three different sites and they are all saying three (kind-of) different things.
Mahalo!

If you drive just park at the hotel, they will validate your parking. Park in DTD only if you're planning to wander DTD after you eat. I don't know about trading e-tickets at the monorail station, we always have tickets in hand or APs when we go to the parks.

Just walk it... It's only 1 mile and that mile will go fast because you are going through the esplanade and Downtown Disney so it's not like there is nothing to look at.

We arrive on the 20th... with our GK breakfast and our first day in the parks on the 21st. We leave on the 24th.
I am planning on us walking unless it is pouring rain.
Thanks everyone for all of your help!
I love the DIS neighborhood.

My hubby and I walked it from Hojo's on September, and also have a ps for the 20th this month, for GK, at 8 am, and will walk it again. I thought the walk was enjoyable. It was nice walking through downtown Disney without all of the crowds, so we were able to take in some of the artistic detail. We are use to walking alot, we live in a city of gardens, so we walk alot at home, and we found the walk to be nothing really, even if we weren't use to walking.
