Does anyone know if you really can walk to Downtown Disney from the Grosvenor, or is it a lot further than it looks??

The Grosvenor Resort walk to Downtown Disney can be done in less then 5 minutes. It's that close & out of all the hotels there & I even think it's the closet one to Downtown Disney.

We did this last month, this would be the only resort in DD close enough to walk I believe. Also, they are renovating it, which they need. It was okay, just need sprucing up a bit in the rooms.

It's directly across the street. Can't get any closer

Right across the street, but remember Downtown Disney is very big, so while you are across from one end.......if you are going to the other end of DTD it will be a hike. We stayed at Doubletree Suites, the farthest DTD resort and it is still walkable to DTD.

I don't agree with Samsa and I do agree with HopperFan We've stayed at Hotel Royal Plaza, Best Western and Doubletree and have walked to DTD from all of them, Doubletree being the furthest. It is a pleasant 10-15 minute leisurely walk. It's a bit uphill on the way back so it may take a little longer. They are also a short walk, in the opposite direction from DTD, to a small shopping center across Route 535.
I am 52 and DH is 62 and we have no problems with the walk. It's actually a very relaxing stroll along walks that weave back and forth instead of in a straight line. If you stop at the ponds in front of the Hilton and snap your fingers over the water you will get to see some really cute bottlenose turtles come swimming over to check you out. We love to stop there every trip. We will be at Doubletree in September and I can't wait. :thumbsup2
