We have one (E02211) bought ours in 1994.Was still there last year and hope to see it again this year. Many of the bricks are getting a little worse for wear including ours which is near MK entrance.Has anyone heard if Disney is going to take up bricks soon?I can't remember how long Disney said brick would be in place.Seems like I heard 10 years after that they could remove your brick. Also have a Leave A Legacy tile photo at Epcot but we like our brick better. If you have a Brick what have you heard?:goodvibes

We also have a brick near the MK entrance, right near the ramp to the monorail. You are correct - the original contract stated that they would keep the bricks in place for at least 10 years, so time is running out for those of us who bought early. I have heard of no plans to take up the bricks, but I'm sure that Disney will remove any bricks that become damaged or pose a safety hazard. If that happens, it would be great if they would notify the owners to see if they want to purchase a new one - I certainly would - but I suspect they'll just put in a plain brick or one purchased by a new customer. When we go down next month, I'll stop in City Hall and ask what the plans are.

It took us four trips to make our way to our brick, and yes it's time is coming. I was speaking with a CM and for some reaspn they are having trouble with many of these bricks. (Have replaced too many already). I am not counting on my lasting too much longer. 10 years was the guarantee.

But they aren't selling them anymore. I think it would look weird if they just started replacing them with plain ones. I bought mine 9 years ago this thanksgiving.

Oh, I'll be so sad if they tear them up. :( Ours is right off the monorail going towards the gate. To be exact, in front of the first tree next to the kiosk with upcoming movies, etc. It has always been fun to run over to see our brick. Our oldest gets a kick out of it cause we had it before she was born, even before we were married. I tease hubby cause he insisted on it saying The... I was irriated cause I told him we weren't married yet!

My understanding is the intention is not to tear them up, just to replace them on an as needed basis with bplain bricks.

Right, and can you imagine how sad it is going to be when you go to look for your brick and it is gone, nothing but a plain ole' brick. That is gonna be a bummer. :(

We bought ours right after they started selling them. Ours(E14417) is just to the right of the main entrance right under the monorail tracks. I hope if and when they do decide to remove them, they give us a chance to buy them. I would be willing to pay for ours. Good chance for Disney to make a buck or two. We stay at the Poly and the ones on the walkway to the TTC are getting very worn out. Ours still looks almost brand new. Question: has anyone ever had someone you know spot your brick and tell you about it? We have had one person from our hometown say they found ours, they said the town name just jumped out at them..smjj

Nope, I ahven't had anyoen tell me they saw ours. :(

Our is right in front of that tree next to the first kiosk off the monorail. It actually looks OK still, I don't think it get stepped on quite as much as others, although last trip it had a nice old gum spot on top of our name.

I also think that they should offer to sell the bricks if they are going to be removed. My only problem is that both my parents and I have moved since the brick was bought so we could not be contacted anyway.

I, for one, hope there's a chance to purchase them. That was my wedding gift to my husband 5 years ago...

:(

Since we already "purchased" them once, all it should be is shipping and handling.... However, I do not hold out hope that they will be offered to purchase.

I do hope they offer to let us keep them if they take them out! We have one that is to the right of the TTC booths! :) I do not remember when we purchased it though, I am thinking maybe 1999? LOL

Ours is E06853, right near Guest Relations. Last time I was there, though, I was kind of disappointed-they'd set up a security check that covered our brick.
I thought it was funny about the home town thing. When we bought our brick almost 10 years ago, we didn't have a hometown put on it. That's because DH had just been transferred here, and we were quite sure (and hoping) he'd be transferred again. But unfortunately, we're still here almost 10 years later!

I doubt they will make the effort to "sell them back" my understanding is if they come out it is because they are damaged. I did however purchase a lucite replicate of our brick many years ago. It sits proudly on top of the TV::MickeyMo

Was your replica from WDw istself or did you ahve it made?

Yep, last few trisp I thought to myself that stinks for thsoe who ahve bricks under the security booths! ;(
