Has anybody tried (or bought) the Walk-Aide for MS or stroke? I go for a trial at the end of this month to see if I am a candidate. I understand it is $300 just for the 2 week in home trial if they determine it might work for you. I also understand, though, that it is highly unlikely that insurance will cover it. Does anybody have any details?

I have looked at their web site. Including the professional section as well as their news releases. There is nothing that says that it is an approved medical device and there is nothing that specifically states that it will be covered by most insurance. And there is nothing that shows it will be covered by Medicare, and most devices are.

I would look much more questioningly at them. Especially charging $300 for a two-week trial. What will is cost if you go beyond the two weeks. Will your specific insurance cover it. And in the Medical Professionals section, the page about insurance is "under construction" (which probably means that most, including Medicare, will not cover it).

At this time, without answering all of my questions, I would strongly advise against it.

(And that is just a fast review of their web site)
