Walgreens deals....what are YOU buying this week?

Thanks, I don't know if it was a good thing because I stopped at another store and got $20 more buying toothpaste without mfg. coupons. I need to hide my car keys. The only good thing is that I've used up my Walgreen's gift card and I am too cheap to actually pay real $$. I found Zantac coupons for $5 online so I tried that too, they adjusted the coupon to $3.99 (free) and I got $3 RRs so now I have $113. I'm off to go walk around the neighborhood and give toothpaste to everyone.

The toothpaste fairy :tinker:

;)

I have done many deals today. Right now I am up to $100.00 that was covert to a gift card. I wonder if I could get one of those preloaded American Express and pay towards my Disney vacation package.

If you used Manuf. coupons you can still use the RR, but it is like a muanf. coupins so you'll need to have one item in your order that does NOT have a MFC attached to it. You can get one of the free after rebates or something small like a candy bar or pencil and that'll take care of it.

If they scan the RR BEFORE your manufacturer's coupons, you do NOT need a filler.

Personally I'm always afraid to do that in case I go under, but it might be better on my hips if I don't have to hurry and grab a Snickers every time for a filler!

WOW! Well, that makes me want to run to CVS now!

Save them for trick or treat! :rotfl:

If they let you do it, go for it! Sometimes they do the fee as a rebate in the EasySaver, I made about $10 buying three $25 AmEx gift cards last December. I hated them though, they don't work like other gift cards, like if you have $3.75 left on one, you have to make sure the cashier enters a payment of the exact amount before you can pay the balance with other funds. I've seen some that deduct $2 if you try to pay for something with an amount larger than is left on it too.

I went back to a store yesterday. Got 5 crests and 2 bags of oreos. Paid with my $6 Venus RR and owed $.76. Got back a $3 RR for the oreos and another $10 RR for the toothpaste. The guy ringing me up said--wow you got a great deal. I just smile and said Yup--coupons are good. I only have 2 stores within an easy distance here and, frankly, neither one is close. None have had any toothpaste until today and that was a lousy 5 pkgs. I don't think I'll try again. Might try for once more on the CoverGirl thing, though. I can always use more toenail polish for summer! If I can't find something to spend my RR on in the next couple weeks I will try for the GC, but I have a feeling there'll be something that comes up--always is!

I would be thrilled to find 5 packages of the Crest. I would add in 4 packages of the Charmin or Cascade or mix of Charmin and Cover Girl and get $20 in RR for less than $10 OOP.

I have about $70 from Walgreens this week. I am looking forward to the next two weeks to see if there is anything good that I can roll these on.

They are doing it on purpose because they can be used by anyone so it's the same as cash to them, unlike CVS extra bucks that have to be used with the card they were earned on. It's never the young cashiers, it's women my age (40's), which makes me even angrier. I'm usually really good at dealing with stuff like this, but not at Walgreens, and that's probably because I'm working the craziest deals there, I usually have to explain why I earned them.

This is what's happened to me: Ripping them off and setting them to the side of the machine, then only handing them over when I ask and/or saying something like "most people don't want their coupons" or "I think those were from the customer before you" or telling me it's a mistake and the register has been acting up and I wasn't supposed to receive them. One clerk flat out denied that one printed when I watched it print and watched her put it somewhere else. I think it's a big temptation and Walgreens should go to a loyalty card or a system that prints on the receipt.

The same thing happened to us! I read about cashiers not giving the RR on HCW so before my DH went to Walgreens on Sunday, I told him to make sure that he got it. When he got home, he told me that the lady wasn't going to give him the RR! Basically, she took it out of the machine and laid it next to the register. My DH said, "Excuse me, I think that coupon is mine." She looked it over and after a moment, finally handed it to him.

I was bummed because I tried to roll a zantac and venuss RR into my Cover girl and the cashier wouldn't let me. That was after I told her that the Blush was 5.99 not 2.99 and she copped an attitude. Oh well I have $19 for free T/P but still like CVS better.

I just went to HCW and read all the stories. It's pretty sad that this is so widespread.

I would be so happy if someone would explain all the great walgreens deals to me!!!! :woohoo: What are register rewards? How do you earn them? what can they be used for? When can they be used? Can you use the easy saver coupons combined with regular manufacturers coupons??? Thanks so much!!! I'm so jealous of all the AwEsOmE deals you're all getting ~ I want some!!! :lmao:

Please explain walgreens deals to me??? RR? How does it all work?
:) ThAnKs!!!!:)

Maybe this will help, I wrote it out for my mom:

Get 9 Crest Pro-Health or Night Pro-Health 4.2 oz. toothpastes.

Use coupon from page 22 of the May Easy Saver catalog available in the store.

Total comes to $22.50 on sale. Coupon takes off $13.50. You receive two $10 Register Rewards ($20) that can be used to buy most anything else in the store (can’t be used on the same deal again though).

This is a profit of $11 in Register Rewards. If you have manufacturer coupons, it gets even better.

There are many items this week that give $20 in Register Rewards if you buy 9. If you look at the ad items and can get the item for less than $2.22 after mfg. coupon, it’s free after Register Reward (excluding tax).

CoverGirl items are included and you only need to buy 6 to get the $20 in Register Rewards because the buy one get one 50% off makes the register think you purchased 9 (but must not get more than 2 items with the same UPC). Combine this with the coupons from Sunday’s Proctor and Gamble coupon insert. The lowest priced items are eye pencils with sharpener, big sharpener, foundation sponges, etc. at $2.99 (and 50% is taken off the 2nd item). Be sure to use the free blush when you buy 3 CG items coupon if you have it.

Buy 9 Charmin flushable wipes and use coupon from the weekly ad plus any 25 cent Charmin coupons and they’re a little more than free after the $20 Register Rewards.

Cascade and Mr. Clean products end up being free if you have enough mfg. coupons, or can combine them with other items above to total 9 items.

Register Rewards are coupons that print from a machine called a catalina. This machine also prints other mfg. coupons that are triggered from transactions, for example, buying Charmin wipes triggers a $2/2 coupon this week for Cottonelle wipes.

Also, register rewards expire 2 weeks after they print. Some stores will only accept one per transactions, but the policy is supposed to be one per item because it's a mfg. coupon. For example, if you bought 3 boxes of cereal and you had 3 mfg. coupons for them, the register reward wouldn't be accepted UNLESS it was used first, but no store has ever scanned it first for me, they always do it last, even if I ask them not to. If you bought 3 boxes of cereal and used 2 mfg. coupons and one RR, it would work. Hope that makes sense, I don't know if you shop at CVS too, but Walgreens can get really confusing and their receipts are weird too because they charge full tax on every item before coupon (in MN, don't know about other places).

so, you are buying just enough to earn the $20 in RR each time and then redeeming at a later time (or separate transaction) for the rest of the stuff you need? Am I getting this right? Did I read correctly about people redeeming the RRs for GCs? I am very interested in this and it so happens that i am in need of a few things that happen to be advertised for RRs and I have my mnfr coupons as well. I may have to hit Walgreen's.

Yes, just enough to get the $20. We can practically throw a stone between Walgreen's where I live so it's not an issue, I think I can get to 12 stores in a 5 mile radius. I only do one transaction and then I leave.

I haven't spent my pile of $10 RRs yet. I will use some to buy the free-after-rebate items in the Easy Saver (submit online so it's easy). I probably won't get caught up in trying to roll RRs at Walgreens because it makes me crazy so I'll buy food items on sale over the next 2 weeks with the rest of them.

I am also buying Zantac that is on sale this week for $3.99 and gives a $3 RR, so I used the $3 RR to help pay for the 9 item deal a few times (if I don't have Zantac in that transaction). You can buy Zantac and a Venus razor (I think) and use the $4 mfg. on the razor and a coupon for Zantac and get back a $6 RR for the razor and a $3 RR for the Zantac and then turn around and use that $9 in RR towards the 9 item deal (and vice versa with a $10 RR from the 9 item deal). I didn't buy any razors because I used my coupons at CVS already, but I did read that some people have a BOGO coupon for Schick Intuition and they have bonus packs with an MP3 player armband and they're also getting $6 RR for the Intuition razor.

same here..it seems like i have a walgreen's on just about every corner so this is def. worth the effort to plan. Thanks for clarifying! :thumbsup2

I stopped at Walgreens on my way home from work and I made a stupid mistake. I don't know what I was thinking. I guess that is what happens when you have a hard day and work late and then try to go couponing!!

I stopped in to see if this Walgreens had any of the ProHealth toothpaste. Well they did. But I decided to do the Venus razor deal first, so I could roll those RR into the ProHealth deal.

So I pick up a Venus razor (9.99) and I think I need to get a filler so I could use my razor coupon AND a $10 RR from the Covergirl deal. So I go over and get a small pack of Kleenex for .39. I go up to the register and hand her my razor and kleenex. I then give her my $4 venus razor coupon and the $10 RR. She says, "You can't use this $10 RR because your total is only $7 something." I forgot to factor in the coupon. So I say can you void this and I will get something else. She says, No, just go ahead and pick something out. So there I am having to think quickly about what to get. So I say I will do the 2 Nabisco cookies because I seemed to remember reading that they were giving RR. She says, "Aisle 9." So I run down there and grab 2 cookies of the shelf and run back to the register. I wasn't even positive those were the right cookies, but I thought they were and a line was forming. So I DID end up getting the $6 for the Venus and the $3 for the cookies. Not too bad of a deal on the fly, but a little more OOP than I normally like to spend. PLUS by this time I no longer needed the .39 Kleenex filler, but I didn't think about that until after I checked out.

So here was my deal:
Venus Embrace razor 9.99
Walgreens Pocket Kleenex .29
Nabisco Oreo 2.50
Nabisco Chips Ahoy 2.50
-$4 venus coupon
-$10 RR from Covergirl deal
Subtotal 1.28
9.25% tax .95
2.25% tax .11
Total $2.34

And I got back a $6 RR and a $3 RR. I just have to figure out a good way to roll these into the P&G deal.

Maggie

Maggie, on your worst day you are still better than me on my best!

but i def. need to get better at this.
The problem I ran into was the store not having the item I wanted and I also didn't realize that the P&G products were excluded when redeeming. i did get items I needed though, but def. not as good of a deal as I was hoping.
Another question, you can only use 1 RR at checkout at a time correct??
