Wal-Mart stopping price match

Is that for a half gallon or gallon and what kind of milk? I will have to check my receipt when I get home, I think it was $1.80 for a half gallon of non-fat
Gallon of skim. Half gallon is about $1.30.

That is an amazing price. A quart of non-fat here is about $1.80 at Walmart and about $2.40 at other stories. A gallon is about $2.35 as I recall at Walmart, and up to $4.99 at at the grocery store.

Oh, I hope this isn't true at my store! I did all kinds of price matching on school supplies this season. The office stores aren't very close to my house, but Walmart is on the way to work. And I definitely picked up some other groceries every time I stopped in to price match a school supply. They did get business from me that they otherwise wouldn't have, and I'll take it elsewhere if they stop price matching. Although it does make me feel better about stock piling school supplies on this year's sales.... (no, there aren't 30 packages of Ticonderoga pencils in my basement...)

The cheapest place around me to get milk is usually Costco and by a good margin..also Costco gas is on average 10-20 cents cheaper. Price match didn't bother me at Walmart except for on Black Friday because of the lines and the fact that usually people were price matching a lot of their items taking up time.

I don't go to Walmart for Black Friday anymore because typically the only thing I wanted was DVDs/Blu-Rays and they changed how they do their process (stand in a multi-hour line prior to the sale hour so you can go one by one through the area they set up for DVDs and then you still have to stand in a long line at the register). Now I go to Nebraska Furniture Mart that price matches for Black Friday which actually opens up on Black Friday instead of Thanksgiving.

I'm wondering if Walmart is stopping the price match because of the process involved or other competition. For me I usually shop at Walmart, Aldi and Costco for my grocery needs.

I haven't found the Savings Catcher to be very good in our area. I'm not really sure what prices they compare, but I'm sure it's not local store prices. I went to Wal Mart today and price matched a couple of items and they were still doing it.

I forgot to post yesterday that my WalMart is still doing it too. The cashier said they stopped it at like 500 stores, but so far ours was still good. I'm sure it'll just be a matter of time before it's stopped at all of them.

I don't see anything on their website about this.

I was in 2 Walmarts yesterday, technically in 2 different cities, no signs there. Never used it, any of the items I buy regularly is always lower priced at Walmart. Still baffled how Walmart can be $1 gallon cheaper on milk than everyone else when they buy through a middleman, and the 2 big store chains here own their own dairies.

Our Walmart has the highest price on milk compare to everywhere else. It is $3.19 a gallon. I can get it at Kroger for $1.49 - $1.79.

Pretty much.

If you can find a better price on Walmart.com specific to YOUR store availability, they will price match. The other day, I went in to buy some batteries because I saw them for roughly 40% off on Walmart.com and luckily was available on my specific store website, so they gave it to me even though they had originally rung up at full price.

Is that Great Value brand milk at Walmart? I can see $3.19 for brand name milk at Walmart, it would be $4.99 at Safeway here (what Kroeger is known as here.)

Good. Getting stuck in line behind someone price matching their whole dang cart was one of the many reasons I refuse to shop at Walmart. Plus, it's not like I could just get into a different line. They were all so backed up since they only open a few even on a Saturday afternoon.

I once asked a manager why they built all those cash stands if he was only going to hire 2 cashiers. (One of whom was the rudest person I've ever seen in retail.)

I don't shop there. My time has a value.

I always tell the person in line behind me that I have price matches. Most don't appear to mind. A few asked me to look at my ads to see if anything they were buying was on sale.
Sorry but if a store is offering rib-eye steak for $3.98/lb and Walmart will match it, you bet I'm going to take them up on the offer.
Milk is always $1.98/gallon at another local store.

I went to our store this weekend. I had a great cashier. If the prices I told her weer higher than another store that I wasn't aware of, she gave me the lower price.

Our local stores are still matching prices at the register.

GOOD!! After I waited behind a young couple who did a price match with a MEIJER ad for everything on the belt. EYEROLL!!
Just go to Meijer!!! It's such a nicer store.

And I was in Walmart because it's next to the bank which is across town from me and I wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone.
