Wal-Mart Layaway... Not so special

To pay at any register you need your original receipt, without it you go back to the layaway *site to store area at my store* and take care of the payment there.

 thats scary!! They actually pull the item out and box them up, so the person with the iPad they pulled it out and boxed it with the persons receipt.
My item -- a Little Tikes kitchen -- was too big to be boxed up, but I actually saw it myself go into the Lay-away area, labeled with my name . . . so someone purposefully removed my name, made the decision to screw me over, and sold it to someone else.

Put Lego sets, dress up costumes and my ipad on layaway. They were super friendly and helpful. I was bummed I couldn't put my sewing machine on layaway though. :( But I now will have my ipad2 at Christmas for our family present.:goodvibes

I get layaway if you don't have a credit card. But isn't the fee about the same as CC interest? You get about a month grace period on your CC. So if you pay $5 to reserve $300 of stuff then you just paid the equivalent of 20% APR for a month of storage. Then you have to deal with Walmart (I hate Walmart) to make payments. And that is just assuming you get someone in the store that knows what is going on.

About the only thing I use Walmart for now is site to store a couple of times a year. Like I ordered DD's Willa Fijit because I wanted one that hadn't been on the shelf poked 1000 times. On the way to STS I picked up two lite spirte sets. DD's Christmas = done!

Keep in mind that this is over two months instead of one.

As for payments, I'd like to see a system where you can make payments yourself on the self-serve registers. I know that that's not likely. But we have a pretty good store nearby with plenty of long-time employees. I'm not really worried about that part of it if we use it.

With the receipt I believe I just scan the barcode at the self-serve and pick my amount I want to pay? I'll be making my 1st payment Friday, Ill check that out

how did you get that Harry Potter train for $50? That is a great price!

Kmart recently had it for $30. It was clearanced at $60 and then had an additional 50% off of it. (if you were looking for it, clearance toys are an extra 20% off now)

When I drink I find its easier to watch my children because I see all 3 of them double, so all 6 of them of them take all my attention

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

That made me laugh!
