Waitlists....during Food and Wine Fest

Currently we are booked (10/18-10/25) in a studio at SSR. Waitlisted for ANYTHING ELSE....would love BWV or BCV.

Anyone ever had luck with waitlists coming through during the FWF?

We are going at the begininng of Oct started with a studio at BWV and Waitlisted for BCV (the difference in walking wasn't the only reason ;p). So, yes they do happen just like any other time....best of luck!

What were your dates? Did you get your wait list? When?

I'm wait listed for Oct 8 & 9 (separate) for BWV - Preferred Studio...

I picked up Oct 6 and Oct 11 (Preferred Studio) back in June/July at the BWV but nothing since July 13. I was hoping I'd get my dates as we got closer to 31 days but as of today I'm still waiting. At least I have cash reservations to cover those two dates but hate the idea of spending $625 for two days....

I have been waitlisted for a few months for a 1 Bedroom at BCV 10/1 to 10/3. No movement so far.

This is why I am glad I own those BCV points. The rest of my stay was booked with them about 10 months in advance...... I changed my plans and waitlisted both BW and BC in May. Got BW in June and then re-listed with BC. Called last week to extend once I hit the 30 day window, but.....

I had a studio for the 30th and 10/1. Wishlist came thru sometime in July. In the past most my wishlist come through at the 30 day mark, so hang in there and good luck!

I have been waitlisted for several months for BCV... and just added WLV to the waitlist..although I have no faith either will come through. We booked SSR 1br.. my reason for waitlist is the walk and the fact that we will only be there 4 days..

Not very optimistic myself at this point....32 days out and no movement from OKW.....

was really hoping to get Beach or Boardwalk....as the location is far more convenient with our infant son....

Perhaps if they hadn't sold a zillion shares at disney institute...wait...i mean "Saratoga" ....this wouldn't be quite the issue it now is...

I'm curious if anyone who HAS gotten a waitlist during F&W has gotten it after booking during the seven month window....and not just trying to move from their home to another location/ category?

Actually it has NEVER been easy to get BCV and or BWV during Food & Wine. Sure it's probably harder now, but I have owned BCV since it first opened and find that it's always been booked for Food & Wine. That's the main reason I was not tempted to sell those points when the "run up" was going on a while back. If you want to stay there in October you REALLY need to own there.

as I mentioned my initial reservation was inside of 7 months and got BWV and then a waitlist came through for BCV, so it is possible. It's all timing and luck.

Good luck!! Hopefully something will come open. I know I have changed plans within the 30 day window. It does make me thankful that I bought where I like to stay most - BWV.

I had posted earlier with a question about waitlists. Our vacation dates are 10/13-20/08. Thanks to those of you who answered me at that time with your good advice.

I waited patiently -- meanwhile checking DVC website to see if any changes. I also made a call last week and did not have any success. But, I made a call today (after checking DVC website and not seeing any change in reservations) and

lo, and behold --

I won't have to be moving from POP to OKW to AStars to OKW to AStars.

Right now I will be at OKW the whole time, along with my daugher and her family. We will be changing accommodations within OKW, but that is not bad as we will have a car and my BIL and SIL will be the refrigerator as they have a one-bedroom the whole time.

I am so happy!

I am still waitlisted for a 2-bedroom for the whole time 10/13-19, but if that does not come through, we'll manage just fine with 1 bedrm and studios.

I have cancelled the POP and AStars.

So, I firmly believe that the waitlist works -- even during FWF!

Will be the first time for my 22 month-old grandson. I know he won't remember any of it, but we will and there are enough adults to take care of him.

33 days and counting.

Oh...I hear that.....

Obviously the Food and Wine Festival is a huge hit among frequent offenders....especially the DVC types.

I also think the large number of recurring visitors from florida....which boasts a large number of DVC owners...also increases the demand to unmanageable levels.....

Many florida residents go several times during the month/month and a half of food and wine.....can't say i blame them

BCV is the one resort where my waitlist has never come thru, for any time of year. But since there's always a first time, I'm currently on the waitlist at BCV for a studio for the one night of 10/24. Due to airfare, I decided to stay an extra night, so I'm hoping now I don't have to move for that last night.

I got 1 bd BWV for 10/19 - 10/25 by calling day by day at the 7 mo mark. It will be our first time at this resort.

We own at SSR and love it there. I'm concerned about the long walk to the room at the end of a long day.

I also got a 1 bedroom at BWV's at the 7 month mark from my check-out. We are staying 10/18-10/27. This is also our 1st time at the F&WF and at BWV's. I also think the poor availability is due to AKV's selling with incentives but they don't open until May 2009 or something like that. So, all those people are having a hard time staying at AKV's in addition to us SS owners. Many are like us, who have never stayed at SS in 3 years of ownership.
