Waitlisting question...

So I am planning on taking my sister's family with us in Oct next year, and I plan on booking AKV 2bd value at first at the 11 month mark, but we want to try for a Beach club or BW 2 bd villa. When I call MS, what will my options be for waitlisting a 2bd villa? I know for BW there are multiple views, but are the Lockoff/2Queen bed/2bd villa all considered views at Beach Club now? If so, which is my best chance to get if I waitlist on the 7th month to the day?

I know they are all slim chances, but I figured I would try anyway. I think we are going to want a Boardwalk view at Boardwalk, just wasn't certain about beach club, and ultimately, that one is our first choice. Appreciate the help as always!

If you go in to the on-line booking system like you are going to reservation at BCV now, the options for a 2-bedroom are:
2-Bedroom Villa
2-Bedroom Villa - Two Queen Beds
2-Bedroom Lock-Off Villa

The options will be the same and you have to be specific on the rooms you want to wait list. You can have up to 2 wait lists active during the use year.

There are 78 dedicated 2-bedrooms at BCV. Not sure how many of those have 2 queens.
There are 74 2-bedroom lock-offs.

So it sounds like my best option is the dedicated 2 bds since they will not be broken up to make smaller rooms.

There are no dedicated two bedroom villas at BWV. There are only 25 dedicated two bedroom villas with two queen beds in the second bedroom at BCV.

Getting BCV at seven months out in October will be very difficult. I tried to get a one bedroom at BCV at exactly seven months out for a week and could not get it. I did get BLT for a week and was even able to add two more nights. But a two bedroom will be more difficult than a one bedroom. And that will be the case at both BWV and BCV. But BCV is smaller than BWV.

Sorry, I meant the dedicated 2bds are BC, I knew that BWV was all lockoffs. Wasn't really worried about the 2 queen beds in the 2nd br, so think I will try for the "2bd villa" at BC. For the BWV, should I try for the pool/garden view or the boardwalk view? Which one has more units to give us the best chance?

BWV-preferred (pool/garden) view would be the best chance.

Looks like we decided to book VWL with our other contract and waitlist for Beach club. However, we realized that we have another reservation for a studio for 2 nights that we want to try to waitlist as well, which puts a wrench into the planning. Should be interesting to see how it works out, but at least VWL is an awesome fall back plan!

You should be able to do that.

Yes, you can. I have two memberships and have had 2 wait lists on one and 1 wait list on the other one, all at the same time.

Would you consider a split stay? If so, when you call at 7 months, you may be able to get at least part of your trip if all the days are not available. That would give you the option of putting in a wait list for less days which does have a higher chance of coming through.

My dh and I are already splitting it up to a studio for 2 nights and then 7 nts in a 2bd. I think that is as much as we want to split it, especially because we will have a 5 and 8 yr old in tow. However, we just realized we can transfer the pts we need for the 2nts in a studio to our other member number and then we can have 4 waitlists. So I think we are giving ourselves the best chance we can. We shall see.
