Well, boo hoo-- we had to cancel our Christmas trip! So somebody out there that needed a BCV studio from Dec. 6-11 will be very, very happy.

So, we decided to go for F&W Fest. I know this is busy, busy, busy for DVC but I waitlisted for a studio at either BCV or BWV for Oct. 18-24. MS seemed extremely rushed to me. She waitlisted me but didn't tell me if it was for the entire stay or day-by-day. I'm assuming it was for the entire stay. Should I call back and check? Is it better to waitlist day-by-day?

Are chances good at the waitlist coming through? Can MS tell you how far down on the waitlist you currently are? Since we are already at 7 month window I'm just not sure. But hey-- on the bright side, I can change my countdown calendar and it'll move me closer to the trip!!

Thanks!

we were on the waitlist for HH for 1 night (June 27) since the end of February. It came through last week. We have had luck the few times we were on a waitlist. I know the F&W Fest is a busy time but keep your hopes up. Good luck

I agree with Mary Anne, we have never had a wait list not come through. As far out as you are, I wouldn't worry about it. Of course, you could always make a back-up reservation at one of the other resorts, either DVC or somewhere else in the world to ensure you have a room.....;)

I've been waitlisted twice and both times they came through. Once was for our trip in may for a BW standard view and just reciently(two weeks ago) we added on two nights(making our stay 12 nights:bounce: :Pinkbounc )to our oct trip and it came through in less then a week for a standard view one bed.
So I'd say it's possible and I'll send you some pixie dust for extra luck:) .

By all means, call back and find out your status. My family has also had great luck with the waitlists, both times used our requests came through.

We waitlisted day by day, and yes, it was a bit unsettling at the point when non-sequential days came through individually, but in the end they all came through, with plenty of time to spare.

F&WF is awesome! Have a great time!

We wait listed for OKW 2 bedroom for 12/27 3 weeks before and it came thru.

Also waitlisted Vero for 1 bedrrom over Presidents week. That came thru also.

Make sure to call often, and remember that 31 days out the waitlist drop off, and then again at 7 days.

Whew!! You guys are great! Thanks for the reassurance!!

Keeping my fingers crossed!!

I wish I didn't read this post!!! We had a dedicated 2 bedroom at VWL for 11/28 - 12/3, then my sis decided she wanted to join us, so we needed a studio, they could give me 2 of the 5 nights and would have to waitlist for the rest. Or guarantee me a 2 bedroom and a studio at OKW, well I panicked and took OKW, which we have stayed at and love, but really wanted to be a VWL!!! Didn't realie how easy the waitlists come through!! But the bright side is I have enough points to go to Vero this summer if I want!!!

the time period you're looking at is one of the most difficult, so it might not have been NEARLY as easy to get.

As was pointed out, you definitely need to call back and confirm your status. Every reservation I have made they always told me the number of points being used....and I always double check my remaining point balances and write down the confirmation number of the reservation.

Rushed CM or not, there are some things that you have every right to find out every time you make a reservation.

Thanks I already feel better!!! The one I should be mad at is my sister, we begged her at the 11 month widow to join us, my family and our parents, and she said no!!! Then turns around and decides she wants to go and has my 4 year old neice ask!!! I should have just taken her and let the parents stay home!!! Just kidding, I was just really looking forward to the decorations at VWL, but we will pop in for breakfast before the MK one day and check them out!

ClarabelleCow,

There are so many Christmas decorations everywhere you go at WDW that you won't be disappointed at OKW and when your sister sees the size of OKW rooms she will want to join DVC, too! ;)

My DW and I will be at OKW for part of that same time. It's our favorite time to go and we always make a point of driving to the different resorts to see the decorations. Based on our experience, I can confirm that reservations past the 11 month window are not easy to get in the early December period.
