waitlisted for 2 bedroom BCV

Hi everyone,

I have not posted here in probably well over a year because DS entered college last Sept. and DH said we could not afford to go away on our usual summer trip. Needless to say, I was so sad and busy with work that I could not even get myself to come on these wonderful boards.

Well, now DH, seeing how miserable I have been has agreed "Let's go." The only problem is I called yesterday for a 2 bedroom at BCV for middle of August and no availability for our dates. We want to take his sister and her friend this year as well. We got a one bedroom, which is great, but we really need a 2 bedroom if they join us and it looks like they want to. We wait listed.

Do you think I have a chance in getting the 2 bedroom for mid August. I know it really is up to chance, but just wondering if you could share experiences, stories. Thanks so much.

I just called about 2 weeks ago to switch up a few nights from a 2 bedroom at BLT to a 2 bedroom at BWV and they had it. We are arriving August 10th.

So, I think there is always a chance that things will come through, although it will be harder if the only place you wait listed is BCV.

Why don't you go ahead and book a 2 bedroom somewhere else, maybe the BWV, since you need a 2 bedroom anyway? Then, if your waitlist comes thru for BCV, that would be great, but if it didn't, you would already have a 2 bedroom reserved. BWV is larger than BCV, and could still have some availability at this point for August.

I have gotten one but it is a little nerve racking and I was willing to pick up 1 or 2 days at a time and to all often.

Go for a studio for them..attached to your 1 bdrm....

I have had no luck waitlisting 2 bedrooms at BCV for a week. If your stay is just a few days you may have better luck.

Thank you for your replies. Unfortunately, my DH and DS only want to stay at the BCV right now. They will not budge and DH really wanted to show his sister that hotel/pool etc.

We called back on Sunday and tried for a studio for 5 of those nights because that is how long they would be able to stay and they did not have 5 straight nights. We were going to book them in a studio at BWV (which they did have available), but my sister in law wanted to be at the same hotel to really make it more fun. So now we have the 1 bedroom and unless the 2 bedroom comes through in a month or so (very unlikely, I know) it looks like they will not come. I know DH is bummed, but they were not too thrilled about August in Florida, which I can not blame them. Thanks again for all your advice. Anyone else have experience with waitlist at BCV in summer months?

Hi! I hope you get the waitlist, so your family can join you! I understand about an unwillingness to trade out of BCV during that time of the year...I love SAB in that sort of weather.

Your DS's college years will just fly by for you. Enjoy your time with him!

BCV goes quickly. I called 4 days before you for a 7 night stay and got it . Although we haven't been to BCV since 2004 because we usually rotate resorts, we are really looking forward to it.

We waitlisted for BCV for the first time last June and didn't get it. We ended up staying at the BWV for our first 4 days and BCV the next 3 days. It was the first time we stayed somewhere else since the BC/YC and BCV opened. We were REALLY disappointed with BWV and won't go there again. We also waitlisted for a 2 BR in October and didn't get it. We made our 1 BR reservation 11 months out. Waitlisted for a 2 BR at the 6 month mark without success. I did come to discover though that when I did waitlist for the 2 BR, the CM had us requesting a dedicated 2 BR ( there are only 25 of these I believe) instead of ANY 2 BR. I NEVER asked for anything specific. Unfortunatly, I didn't discover this until about 2 months out.
