Waitlisted - could I be so lucky? **UPDATE post #17

Well, one of my waitlisted resorts came through for my whole stay and I grabbed it. I'll be staying at BCV!!

BCV is one of my home resorts, and I love it there. So I'm VERY excited! I'll look forward to trying out VWL on a future trip sometime.

Best wishes to all others on the waitlist! I hope something comes through for all of you!

I am very happy for you...but I hope you also stayed on the VWL waitlist...you never know(If you cancelled...call back at the 30 day mark and go back on the waitlist-have them call you if they get VWL-I would say never give up hope...I know several people that have gotten their WL 3-4 days before). But it is fantastic that you are at an Epcot area hotel!!!

** Also I know someone previously posted that "the disney website can not help with room availbility" But...since it does give you a guage if Disney has any available holdings at the VWL...I think you stand a great chance, because I just checked and there is availbility at VWL...so if noone books that room in the next month... it will be released into DVC waitlist.

Is this correct? I was JUST told by member services that rooms available for cash DO NOT go back into the points system. Anybody know the right answer on this? I'd just about decided to give up on my waitlist, but I know there are rooms available for cash, so if those rooms will eventually end up back in the system, I'll wait for what I really want. I'm travelling 11/6-11/9, staying at BWV.

Thanks, canwegosoon! I did consider whether to say on the VWL waitlist, and I opted not to. As I thought a little more about this solo trip and where I would probably spend most of my time, I decided that BCV would actually lend itself better to those plans. My biggest regret is that I know that VWL would probably be spectacular with Christmas decorations.

Oh rats! Now I'm second guessing myself again! Hmmm, I may have to rethink the VWL waitlist again.

I don't know for sure...but since Disney is one of the largest holder of points...you have to imagine that they would want rooms that are unrentable (no cash paying customers) back into inventory. I am not 100% sure, but when this poster origionally posted, I checked availbility on the Disney website, and what they were able to book- matched the availbility on the website(could be coincidence). Then today I checked availbity and low and behold they got their availbility at BCV(availbility), and there is avilbility at VWL...where they want to go. So staying on the waitlist can not hurt...there might be others on the VWL ahead of this poster, but I would bet that it will become availble before their trip. Is it coincidience is it luck ..but if you want some where....stay on the waitlist

Yep...still hangin' in on the WL for a studio at BCV, BWV or VWL 11/24 - 11/28. Checked the regular Disney web site and all three came up available. I agree that we can't be sure about when/if inventory goes into DVC but it made me feel better. Isn't it silly that I just like checking. I am so embarrassed.

Congratulations! My waitlist came thru but since we added a day we don't have enough points. I have been trying to rent the 10 points but no one seems to have any. It looks like we will be at OKW for the whole stay. I really wanted BWV. Maybe next time.
