Waitlisted at BLT for November

I'm wait listed for a 1BR Standard View at BLT from Nov. 5th - 12th. What do you think my chances are?

Also, if I get shut out at BLT should I give AKL a shot? We've stayed at VWL last year and really liked it, but I want to give some of the other DVC resorts a try. Thanks!!

We havent had any luck with wait lists at BLT... the standard view is the room that books up first.

We stayed at AKL Kidani 1 br standard view in Feb. We had a great view of the pool. The parking was much better than Jambo for us. There isnt a walk up counter service, but that wasnt a big deal for us. The kids really enjoyed the pool and their activities. I would stay there again.

Standard View at BLT makes up only about 20% of the total available rooms. I tried for a Std View Studio for early Dec at 11 months and couldn't get one. Opted (and borrowed points) for a Lake View instead which is about 70% of the rooms.

I would definitely have a back up of some kind, with so few standard view rooms available at BLT.

I've noticed that wait lists seem to come through mainly at about 6 1/2 months out and again at 6 weeks out (when people realize the 30 day mark is almost here). So it's possible that your BLT WL will come through but it's a slim chance. Since you can have two WL's why not do AKV as well?

I doubt it waitlist would come through in Nov/Dec. I have tried last year for early Dec, and Nada. I'm waitlisted again for early Nov this year (Jersey week), but don't think it would come through.

I don't know when you went on the waitlist but it generally starts by 10.5 months so if it was much later than that you would have better luck trying something else. If you want to go to WDW I would plan on booking a different room.

We are booked in a 1BR lake view arriving 11/4 and departing 11/8. I have two waitilists - 1) night of 11/8, and 2) nights of 11/8 and 11/9. From what I have read, I am not optimisitc of either day to come through for Jersey week.

I waitlisted at one bedroom villa at BLT (lake view which has the most) about five months out for early January (the marathon weekend) and it never came through. I think you have little chance of getting that waitlist

You could try lakeview BLT instead of standard view. And you could also try standard view at AKV (either Kidani or Jambo House, but not both because that would be three waitlists and you can only have two).

I've headed all your advice and was lucky to get a 2BR at Kidani for 5 days in early November. I'm waitlisted for for the last two days of the trip at Kidani and still have a waitlist for BLT for 7 days as well. Better to have something locked in than nothing at all. Plus I've been reading so many posts about Kidani that I'm leaning to giving it a shot. Also the point for BLT for a week when we're going is 210pts for a 1BR and the standard 2BR at Kidani is 229pts. So for the extra room I think its well worth it. We also may be having another family come down with us so having the 2BR works out. Thanks for all your help.
